I would be intrigued with Vick but I really wouldn't be excited about it. It would fit the media/Woody Johnson approach to grab Vick for headlines. I also feel like "Rex loves the guy" is said about every player in the league so I don't take it to mean anything.
Bill Barnwell @billbarnwell Sanchez trade rumor is hysterical. Jets would incur the same cap hit as with releasing it unless they get somebody to take on his salary.
Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Buddy Ryan's favorite QB was Randall Cunningham. Rex Ryan and Michael Vick?
I actually loved Randall Cunningham's game. He could throw a mile, run like the wind and carry teams on his back at times. The problem is that he would have off games at the worst times. A west-coast type offense with Vick running the helm wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. We don't have the RB's for that unless McKnight or Powell suddenly improve their hands a whole lot.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Rex Ryan is X-factor for Jets' landing Michael Vick. Rex has always had affinity for Vick. "(Ryan) loves him," a Jets official told me #nyj
Beggers can't be choosers, Who else is gonna be our QB if it were between Vick and Sanchez im taking Vick at this point enough of the Sanchez shit. A fresh start for Vick could make him play like he did when he looked like a video game a few years back.We don't really have many other options, We have a much better OLine then the Eagles do and they stuggled to protect him all year, Im down to bring in Vick as long as we have a gameplan and a real OC. It wouldn't surprise me to see Vick have success here and see Sanchez having success somewhere else. But who is gonna want to trade for Sanchez???Cheifs???Jaguars??? They have high picks in the draft and might go with Barkley or Geno Smith, So then your looking at maybe San Diego I could even see the 49ers taking him as a backup with Smith likley gone, Sanchez would actually be a good fit with the 49ers because of Hardbaughs ability to fix QB's. I could see the Raiders possibly showing some intrest as well maybe Seattle in a backup role but unlikley, Maybe even the Eagles would bring him in to compete for the starting job
next games are against SD and Bills. None of these games will give any good indication of how McElroy QB skills really are at this point. Tearing it up against these two wont help his case imo.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL Because Sanchez totally tore it up against Arizona, Jacksonville, and Tennessee, right? All 9 of those turnovers really bolstered his career and helped his case, right? That's why he's taking a break on the bench because of his AWESOME stats. If McElroy tears it up, that means he is leaps and bounds better than Sanchez against bad competition.
No, but he can help his case by how he plays. A consistent performance in 2 games is already a step above Sanchez.
Chargers have a good defense. Their O may be terrible but their D isn't. Their almost similar to the Jets. The turn overs from the offensive side has caused them to lose games and put the D in a bad position. It's the same with the Chiefs. They have a good D but their O is even worse then ours. SD will be a good test.
