you absolutely have to be joking me? Fans not farmiliar with edwards before coming to the jets???

    - All-american at Michigan
    - #3 pick in the draft
    - NFL all pro after
    - Monster 80 catch/1200 yard/16 touchdown season with the browns

what he did in cleveland was far superior to what he did with the jets.

how many AFCG did mark have before braylon as here?

Cotchery we better prior to sanchez arrival. He had his 3 best seasonw the 3 years before mark was drafted.

As far as keller, sanchez is the only QB he has ever played with, so its really impossible to say, since he never played with anyone else.

either way, Holmes, Burress, Cothcery, Edwards - all 4 of those guys had much more success prior to playing with sanchez.

i dont see how thats relevant - he said that mark "made those players" and that they hadnt had success prior to playing with sanchez. which is clearly, VERY inaccurate.

it is completely indisputable that Holmes, Cotchery, Edwards, and Burress all had a ton of success prior to playing with mark sanchez. to even suggest mark made any of those guys, is just moronic

To give you an example of a QB who fell from grace after being a high pick and then redeemed himself at the pinnacle of success with another franchise you have Jim Plunkett.

I'd never say never in terms of Sanchez redeeming himself elsewhere. I just think it is pretty clear that he has worn out his welcome here.

As Plunkett did in New England before becoming a two-time Super Bowl winner with Oakland.

I've been hating Rex to this point about playing Sanchez but he looked mad last week that he had him in.

I think he is somehow being forced to play Sanchez and is taking the heat for doing so. Guy is from a football family and deactivates the hot hand who brought a spark? something is wrong.

No he isn't. This was a Rex decision with input from Tanny. If the decision was left up to Woody then either Tebow or McElroy would play. But last week and this week are road games so they really get to avoid the issue until the San Diego game. No matter what Sanchez does Monday, if he's the starter against San Diego he will get booed off the field. Unless of course Sanchez drives down the field on the opening possession, but we all know that's doubtful.

He sucks, he just sucks and I hate him, I hate, I hate him. He is stupid and does nothing. He ran into Brandon Moore's ass and fumbled the football. I want any QB as long as his name isn't Mark Sanchez.

This thread is right on track.

Yep because we can't actual logical discussion dictate this thread. It has to be hyperbole (not sure if I'm using this correctly, oh well)

Alright thanks for letting me know. I'll mentally put him on my ignore list. The more random posts I see from a name, the more I remember just to skim over it.

To clarify, I don't really see that Mark is good now, I just see him as the likely starter next year so might as well try to get the good we had with him

I never said that he was the 2nd best QB, I said he is the 2nd MOST SUCCESSFUL QB.

I agree...he's playing like shit right now, but you haters that completely disregard his stats in the playoffs is a joke. When we win, the team "dragged" him through...when we lose, it's all on Sanchez.

You guys weren't saying this shit during the run in 2009 and 2010.

The best QB's I have seen play at their best:

    1. Vinny Testaverde '98

Nobody has ever had a better season in the 41 years I've been watching.

    2. Ken O'Brien '85

    3. Chad Pennington '02

That's it. That's the list of great Jet seasons by a QB since I've been watching them.

Want a mind-blowing stat? Like an OMG what the fuck is going on with this franchise stat? Since 1970 the Jets have only had 2 QB's that threw 20+ TD passes in more than one season. Ken O'Brien in 1985 and 1986. Vinny Testaverde in 1998 and 2000.

Both of them had a big season their first season starting then one other season with more than 20 TD passes.

I mean, WTF? Throwing 20+ TD passes is something that a dozen QB's do every year but for the Jets it's like an almost impossible task and even if they get a guy who can do it he folds soon thereafter.

    It is like a curse.

Dan Marino threw 20+ TD passes in more seasons than all the Jets QB's in the history of the franchise combined.

in a league where the good teams were much better? nonsense...the pats steelers ravens giants saints of the past 10 years could definitely play with and beat the teams of the 80's including the 49ers...thats just more nostalgic revisionist bullshit

Great post. I have been alive and a fan since the Richard Todd era. These stats are both accurate and painful. That's why I love it when tools like Barcs say, "But Ryan is the best Jets coach ever!!", and "Look at all the playoff games Sanchez has won." The Jets are an example of NFL futility. Because a player or coach has a sliver of success, it does not make them good. It simply makes them the best of the worst.

My Dad has been fighting cancer for a few years now. He is why I am a Jets fan. We have always made time to watch games, go to games or talk on the phone during games for over 30 years. He has said several times, "I wish I got to watch the Jets win the SB with you." Lately, he said, "I'm sorry about the whole Jets thing. You should root for someone else."

I can't, and I never will. I just hope a few Sunshiners get some perspective from this. People say it's just a game. I say I've spent almost every NFL Sunday since I was born, watching Jets football with my Dad. They represent money, camaraderie, family and hope.

I spoke to him tonight and he's not doing great. Christmas is almost here and it may be my last with him. I wish I had 1 SB to watch with him. I said the same thing before the Steelers/Jets AFCCG in '10. Pretty sure it won't happen.

I know I'm bummed, but I just wish we had one chance this year, instead of a team who has a slim chance to even make the playoffs.

    Ahhh.......bad night, Sorry mates.

First off, sorry to hear about your Dad. I am only 22, but my dad is in the same boat. He texted me a few weeks ago saying that he will never be alive to witness another Jets Superbowl or Mets World Series. It's sad shit man. To see your own father draw tears over a Championship game loss is heart-breaking.

Plunkett was just plain worn out in NE. He had a decent rookie season, then got the shit beat out of him for the next few.

He also got beat up pretty bad in Frisco before he went to the Raiders, who were the most talented team in the league.

I would say that Plunkett had a better pedigree than Sanchez. He did win the Heisman Trophy.
