Actually, he did have an option to toss it at the RB's (who stayed in to block after the play-action) feet. He is an eligible receiver after all.

Hay Dipshit how is a deep post out of your own end zone with one receiving option a conservative play call?

Btw those bars in your sig are fucking terrible, I take it you wrote it yourself?

lol I was thinking the same thing about the sig.. actually I was thinking the same thing about the whole post, about the gay blue font, him being a dipshit, wondering how the hell that play was conservative... all of it. Well done.

The play-call is exhibit A of why Schotty needs to take his ball and go home. The situation of the game alone should be enough for someone to call it stupid without getting into whether more of the blame goes on Mark or the Offensive Coordinator.

Down 14 in the third quarter? It'd make more fucking sense to do it in a situation like that instead of tied at the end of the second. And the design was shit. If you're essentially forcing your QB to stick with one read on the play, get rid of it.

And to the guy that called the play-call "conservative." I guess you just fucking run Hail Mary's on every play you call in Madden. This is real life douche.

You can blame Schottenheimer all you want, but at the end of the day Sanchez did the one thing that he absolutely cannot do in that situation.

Throw it to the runningback's feet, tuck the ball and dive forward out of the end zone, or even take a safety if there's absolutely no other option. Don't toss up a sure pick (and make no mistake, it was almost a 100% certainty that a Bill would pull that ball down) and risk yet another pick six.

schotty didnt order sanchez to make a bad throw. The call may have been a poor choice but players have to make plays and sanchez has to be able to recognize a stupid play call in the situation and not throw an interception. blaming schotty for an INT is kind of silly.

No. He would not. Barnett was coming IN. If Greene released outside, Barnett would have had to shift momentum front to back, and Greene would have had a step on him.

The Fake handoff drew both payers in to the Center.

You can play obtuse, if you wish, but it's a very simple thing....RB moving forward Diagonally and up FREELY, against LB moving forward, and changing direction, instead of RB inside and making contact TRYING to get outside.

The Fake handoff is what kills that play.

THERE IS NO CHECKDOWN on that play. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.

It's See the over under, and fit the ball in.

From the End Zone, there is NO PLACE HE CAN GO WITH THE BALL, except there.

    Unless he's giving up 2.

Look at the pic. (Count the 10 green jerseys, tell me where your checkdown is?)

the BALL is in the AIR.

Why? Because Greene was held up at the Line, which just happens to be the Goal line in this case.

A Grounding call is a safety.

A Holding Call is a safety.

The only call is to make the play.

Which is why....It's Piss Poor Play design.

Sanchez could've thrown it to the feet of Greene (at the bottom of the screen) and it wouldn't have been grounding.

Or there was enough space to tuck the ball and run it right up the middle out of the end zone. It would've been a 2 or 3 yard loss, but that's better than a certain turnover.

Ummmm.Helloooo..MC Fly. Look at the Pic. The ball is IN THE AIR, and Greene is not on the 2.

Prior to that Greene was engaged ON the goal Line.
Throwing the ball at Greene's feet would have been a safety.

Tuck the ball and run? Are you blind ? The RT is BEAT and sanchez is 4 yards deep, not to mention the LDE, and the Buffalo layer BEHIND Mangold on the 3 yard hashmark...Is Sanchez just going to Jeté away from them?. That's a sack for safety.

Judging the play from a still image is very misleading.

Sanchez absolutely could've thrown it at Greene's feet, he had at least 3 more seconds before the rush got to him. Plus, he had plenty of space to roll out of the pocket to the right and get rid of the ball, or tuck and run up the middle (depending on what the DE did--we don't know how he would've attacked, because Sanchez just launched the ball without thinking.)

I'm not disagreeing that it was a bad playcall, but locking his eyes downfield and launching the ball into quadruple coverage is just not an acceptable outcome.

I'd rather see Sanchez try something else and fail than just blindly giving up the ball.

Are YOU blind Hobbes? The DE's momentum is taking him around the edge. Sanchez could tuck the ball, run up the pocket and scamper towards to LOS and kill the play if he has to. Instead of throwing into triple or quadruple coverage. The pocket was there, he made a decision, a poor one.

"Our Quarterback" does that a lot. He does good things too, but if he keeps spotting the other team 7 pts with dumbass throws like that, we ain't gonna win the SB any time soon.

Just totally 100% right about all of this. Where was he supposed to run? What the fuck are people looking at?

We'll have to agree to disagree there. I just can't fathom that an NFL OC would call a play with no checkdown and only one WR running a route, forcing the QB to throw into triple coverage from his own 4. If he did, and it's possible because Schottenheimer is a fucking moron, then Sanchez should still be able to recognize triple coverage and get to the LOS which I believe he could have. Maybe RR needs to bust out the color code system again? When you're inside your own 5, that's a "don't throw into triple coverage" play.

Sanchez probably didn't see the DB underneath. He has a terrible habit of not seeing the DB underneath.... Sometimes it's like the guy has no peripheral vision whatsoever.

If Sanchez takes that extra half a second to either pull the ball down and try to run or to turn towards Greene to change where he's throwing the ball he's already buried. Even with max protection he was given virtually no time to make a sound decision. The play call was completely ridiculous and on top of that the Oline failed. Sanchez has certainly been prone to making some bad decisions, no doubt about it, but to try to pin this particular play on him is just stupid.

I don't think anyone is saying Sanchez is not at fault, it is just that he was not put in a position to succeed. His best play would have been to fire at Mulligan's or Greene's feet and just take the loss of down. Schotty called a terrible play, and Sanchez made a bad decision.
It is also really bad nobody is that surprised Schotty would call a play with only 2 routes backed up in our own end zone.
