I think Ben won the Super Bowl in his second year....they went through 3 road playoff games, the Super Bowl, plus the Steelers beat the Jets in the playoffs the year before so that'd be 5 playoff wins plus a title in his second year.
Right I didn't think he should have started immediately as a rookie that was over 2 yrs ago. I also correctly picked the game this week and just won about $1000. Ask me which is more relevant.
Doesn't he have the most passing TDs by a Jets QB in a postseason game (3)? Not sure but I think I saw that stat up there.
A great QB would have put the game out of reach in the third quarter but he let Brady get a third chance to put it within 3. That short throw to cotchery that went for 58 yds helps his stats and was the play of the game.
I was wondering how long it would take for a Steelers fan to show up. I think you've broken a record yourself. The JEts aren't even out of the Patriots' locker room yet and you're here posting already.. LOL...
Yeah, but a great quarterback like Brady is supposed to be wouldn't allow himself to be bitch-slapped around for 4 quarters in his own house with a playoff appearance on the line to begin with.
for all those guys saying that sanchez doesn't get the stats his playoff stats are actually really good. the big #'s aren't there because of two things: 1) They would rather run the ball for 2.5 ypc and try and play defense, wasting all of our receiving weapons -and- 2) they put sanchez in a ton of 3rd and longs then let him throw only after two runs.
For the most part sanchez was terrible today. His WRs bailed him out big time. Tomlinson made a great catch on an awful throw for a TD. Edwards made one great catch to set up Tomlinsons TD on Sanchezs best throw of the day and he made a great run on his TD. Holmes made an amazing catch. Cotchery had a fantastic run after the catch. Sanchez for most part was inaccurate and made poor decisions not throwing to wide open WR's. What Sanchez did well was get rid of the ball quickly and not make risky throws. But throw out the big plays by all 3 WR's and it would have been a horrid day for Sanchez. This was a case of Sanchez not screwing up and being carried by the rest of the team. The QB rating for Sanchez was very misleading and not at all indicative of his performance.
Is this sarcasm because @ first, one could say he missed Holmes early on but Holmes slowed down, he also dropped a ball, Keller on that long 3rd pass wasnt in the right place, and Edwards batted down a ball for Holmes.
Dude I've been posting here for a few years now. I was answering one of the questions posed in the thread about whether any 2nd year QB had ever won 5 playoff games. That IS the point of message boards right?
And don't forget that Rex is only in his 2nd year as well. We have a 2nd year QB and coach putting together these remarkable accomplishments together so early in their careers. The future is bright indeed!
yeah man, you should listen to this guy, The Sanchise. He's been watching this game for a long time. Hell, he can tell you the outcome of a game before it's over! I still can't believe we lost to the Colts last week
i love sanchez as much as you, but.... it's our defense that's given mark the chance to shine in the last minute of play. if mark was playing against the NY Jets, he'd get absolutely killed. kids got a ways to go.
