ESPN mentioned this the other day, Ben's 2005 postseason passer rating - 27.3 Sanchez current 2010 postseason passer rating - 92.1. So yeah, the 05 steelers won in spite of ben. He was largely horrible, he had his moments, but he was terrible in the playoffs. In 2010 Sanchez has played 2.5 quarters of bad football, the other 3.5 he has outdueled 2 future HOF quarterbacks in Brady and Manning. Sanchez can and will play well tomorrow. The stage isn't too big, and he can play well.
I agree, I think its complete bullshit that Mark isn't playing like a star in his 2nd year. He's clutch, and helping win games, but that's not enough.
Not sure where they got their numbers, Roethlisberger had a QB rating over 100 in the 2005 playoffs...
I love Sanchez, but the reason he has a chance to set a record for road playoff wins is because the best quarterbacks mostly play their playoff games at home.
2 HOFers share the record. Its a matter of having a better QB in the division right now. Let Brady win the division, it clearly hasn't helped them in the past 3 years.
Yea because at 24 years old in his second season Sanchez was awful. Could the fact that he doesn't put up huge stats be because his team doesn't send receivers deep and they like to ground and pound not air it out like Peyton Manning. And actually go look and compare Brady's age 24 stats to Sanchez and they are very similar.
How long do these guys play, 12, 13 years? Up to 3 non-neutral playoff games per year and the record is four road wins? That's out of how many total playoff wins for each guy? It's a nice record, it'll be great if he has it, but it's not really something to hang your hat on.
You act like it's an easy accomplishment. The fact that it took those guys so long to do it says even more about it IMO.
Sanchez is still learning, and he struggles early in games because of it. Once his head settles into the game, and he gets a feel for the defensive gameplan, it's like night and day. As he grows, he'll learn to recognize things much more quickly. I've been quite impressed that, despite his being apparently overwhelmed at the start of games, he actually makes his reads consistently well. It just takes time for him to realize that.
I would agree that his acurracy can be an issue, but he has shown he can be accurate, the only thing he really needs to work on is consistency and starting games better. He is a second year qb on the rise. Notice the poster you responded to said "can be" not "he is" a star.
It appears that years and years of shoving giant dildos up your ass has made you into a Retard.....Listen carefully cunt face... I would rather Sanchez play in the S-u-p-e-r B-o-w-l Than the P-r-o B-o-w-l. get it dingleberry...
For a second year QB he has done well, with amazing pressure to win on a vet laden team in the glare of the NY media. His poise is far beyond his years. The scary thing is he is only bound to get better. More consistant throws, better presnap reads, and still be good under pressure. If the kid stays healthy, we are set for a long time at the most important position in the game.
