Rex also realised that if he was to hit the ground running , his team , his D would need player/coaches on the field of play to make sure everyone knows what assignments they have. Bad players NEVER get those roles. I totally agree with our Steeler friend , that Scott's stats are not that impressive yet , but you cannot argue that hes always near or in the play. Forcing plays. Typically a QB will check down and play away from a threat , Scott is in that bracket. This is also going to be a big opportunity for a good player to become a great player and finally step out of Ray Lewis' shadow.
?What a Jet is this year, may not be what one was last year,? Scott said. ?A Jet is fearless, ferocious. He?s a guy that?s going to fly to the football, not back down from anybody. He?s going to be very physical, but he?s going to be a smart football player and work at his craft every day. Not for own personal accolades, but for the accolades of the group. ?This is what we are and this is what we expect. And if you?re not [abiding by it], you won?t be here, simple as that. If you don?t think you can live up to it, you can just raise your hand and they?ll kindly escort you to the nearest airport.? Nuff Said:up:
"Interestingly, Pettine said the many facets of the Jets offense, with its different shifts, pre-snap movement, unbalanced lines and misdirection plays, has helped the defense immensely" Misdirection is supposed to expose the weakness of aggressive defenses like the Ravens ran. So facing an offense with a lot of misdirection in practice should help.
i never saw a question ^I guess we will have to see. I don't see Bart Scott as a cover LB. As far as Lito Sheppard goes, hes pretty good. I just hope he can stay happy. And we will see if Rex can do in NY what he did in B-more lol like I said if you want to base what type of player he is off of a quote of "what a jet is" when he hasn't even played one down as a Jet, then so be it...
'Same Old Jets?' Dunno, gus, but every time I see that phrase, no matter how it's used, I immediately think of, you know, the same old Jets. Reflexes and such.
If a person thinks a QB that has led his team to (2) count em 2 SB wins in four years is overrated. He just needs to try being a Jets fan for a little while. Some people do not know how good they have it as a fan.
Yeah i guess if you're going merely on team results then yeah hes great. But if you look at the teams surrounding him on the 2 super bowl wins then you can see why they won 2 super bowls. For the 1st SB win the running game was phenomenal. Willie Parker/Bettis. And the defense was incredible For this past years SB win, the defense was even more stifling. Yeah yeah he had a great throw to win the game, but also a great catch. And I'm not saying he isn't capable of great plays. But overall he is the beneficiary of a great team
Haha , yeah it does make my stomach think I've just gone over a bridge really fast and left it there  To be honest, I hate that phrase and can't wait to feel like reacting differently when I hear it.
Like the article said, this team is not in the rebuilding stage like the 9ers or the Bungles. This team is loaded with talent. Funny how similar the Jets sound to the Ravens of last year. Rookie QB, no star #1 reciever, must win on defense. NICE!
that's the thing, they aren't a huge indication of how you're playing. you've watched more bart scott than i have for sure, but arguing stat lines is not how you win those arguments. i'll give scott and the scott's passion the benefit of the doubt.
