100% agree. I also started a thread weeks ago asking why hasn’t Darnold signed yet. It was a little premature but everyone was saying not to panic. I’m almost there folks...though I imagine Maccagnan ain’t sleeping tonight until this gets done.
Why is everyone acting like we should just cave to whatever he wants? For all we know they’re asking for something unheard of. It is Jimmy Fucking Sexton after all. That guy is going to be a complete pain in the ass when it comes time to extend Darnold if he’s any good. Most annoying agent in football.
This whole offset issue is a joke. Do you seriously think the Jets will cut him before the expiration of his rookie deal? I mean they kept GeNO f*cking Smith all 4 years. If the Jets do cut him before the end of his rookie contract I'm through with this team and I hope Darnold gets the offset language removed and signs a huge deal elsewhere to double dip.
There's a $25 million dollar plus difference between Geno's deal and Darnold's deal. Besides the offset language, there's also the issue of how the signed bonus is paid out. Either or both could be causing the delay.
