Yet, Jets haven’t won a game without him. And they have games every season to win without Darnold. zip, zilch, nada...

That's a red flag. Sorry but I don't want my quarterback learning from a Jordan Palmer. You play how you practice and
practice doesn't make perfect especially for a QB perfect practice makes perfect. Jordan Palmer? During the off-season? Cmon Sam.

Jets failed Sam by drafting him that high.

It's not the QB's job to teach o-linemen how to block or to teach receivers/ends how to catch and hold onto the ball. That's the job for coaches.

Sam Darnold is surrounded by shit tier talent and some are trying to claim that's somehow Sam's fault.

    You're problem, not mine.

I'm not the one blaming the QB for problems the QB cannot control.

Only an idiot would look at the present situation as if the quarterback is not apart of the problem. 4 yards in the second half last week.

Can you look up the total yards and first downs in the second half this week for us? Did we cross the 50 this week? That's everything BUT the quarterback play?

Not every offense runs like the 49ers offense of last year where the quarterback is insulated from every throw that's not a screen.

Sam got a raw deal coming into this league and has a garbage supporting cast. The offense still didn't score a touchdown today. He threw the ball into crowded spots on most of his incompletions and was lucky to not have some of them picked off.

A lot of his completions came on quick screens because he wilts under pressure. The closest we got was to the Chiefs 22 yard line in the first quarter and then the 31 was the best we could do.

He played a similar game to what Brian Hoyer played against this same Chiefs defense with a bad offensive supporting cast. Except Brian Hoyer got into the Red Zone several times he just made horrible plays once he got there.

I thought Darnold looked better today, although not saying he was great. But his OL and receivers let him down big time (and of course the play calling as always). I'm surprised the Chiefs didn't blitz more, but they still did get a lot of pressure on him. All that said, night and day talent difference between him and Mahomes.

There no need to completely dump on Darnold. He’s shown some flashes over the past 3 years but nobody on the Jets offense is doing anything until Adam Gase is gone. Darnold will get his shot somewhere else eventually and maybe he’ll turn into everything we’d hope he would be. History is not on his side in that regard, but who knows.

Agree. This team is a total reflection of what years of pathetic drafts and piss poor free agency signings can do. Sam was a very young prospect with development issues not remotely ready to overcome and lead this subpar offense. MM has completely destroyed this team, particularly in offense where he did nothing, culminating with a complete melt down on the last draft and free agency followed by his incompetent involvement in helping CJ select Gase as the HC. Sam will never reach the potential we hoped for, but make no mistake, any QB would have failed in this putrid environment. Even Patrick Mahommes, as incredibly gifted as he is, would have been overwhelmed by this mess. Clearly he would have done better, but would not have remotely developed into the stud that he is in this joke of an organization. I feel for Sam, and any other QB that is crazy enough to come here if Gase is still around.

Heading into our KC slaughtering lol Sam Darnold out of QB Bust USC Central U had the 32nd and dead last QB Rating of 70.

Well today he lived up to expectations with another bust QB Rating of, well, you guessed it... 70.6

(with 0 TDs and only 130 passing yards).

He is what his QB Rating says he is and that is by far the 32nd rated dead last and WORST NFL starting QB in the game today. .
    Trevor can't come soon enough.

Mahomes had 5 TD passes today. That's more than Darnold has all year long (3?).

His QB Rating is now 65.9.

Matt Leinart was better than this bust and even Sanchez after his 6 NFL seasons (2 with Philly) never had a single season QB Rating under 65.9 outside of his 2009 rookie season Gase or no Gase Sam is absolutely pathetic.

Ryan Leaf at least showed anger out there. Sam has no energy. No emotion. No fight. No nothingness. He's the spitting image of USC NFL busts... Soft!

I'm embarrassed for wanting him due to ONE ROSE BOWL GAME VS. PENN STATE (I was tricked).

They didn't fail him by drafting him high, they failed him by trading 3 prime draft picks to draft him that high.

Lamar Jackson would be running for his life on this team if he was picked on the 3 after trading 3 high seconds to get there.

It's not about MacCagnan - quit living in the past. Nobody will ever say he did a good job here but the fact is that the New York Jets have gotten demonstrably worse since MacCagnan was fired. It has also obviously gotten worse since Gase was hired, clearly illustrated by comparing Darnold today to his first season.

Every day that Gase is retained is a day wasted in trying to build a winner. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by keeping him here.

It s one thing to be rebuilding for several years with a young QB, but is another thing when you’re still rebuilding when the current QB isn’t working or in your plans. We got Darnold hoping to be in a better position today, hoping to continue to build around him but we’re taken another step back.

As bad as Texans are this year, as least you build around Watson, for next couple of years: chargers did it with Rivers and remained competitive and competed in playoffs for awhile.
