For someone who has watched football as long as you, you sure seem to not know much about it. Mark Sanchez had an elite o-line, an elite running back duo, and WRs who caught the ball. Sam Darnold has a F rating of an o-line, an old broken down RB, and WRs/TEs who drop passes that hit them right in their hands. The team around Sam is so freaking terrible it's completely asinine to compare him to a player that was around top tier talent.
We all know Trevor's NCAA #'s dominate Sam's NCAA numbers. But. It started before college, people... Lawrence Career HS numbers: 846/1,335 (63.4%). 13,902 passing yards (248 per game). 161 TD's / 21 INTs. 1 Fumble. QB Rating 131.3. Darnold Career HS numbers: 282/420 (67.1%). 3,733 passing yards (143 per game). 46 TD's / 8 INTs. 18 Fumbles. QB Rating: 123.6. Trevor put up 41 consecutive wins in HS! That is crazy. 35-1 @ Clemson is even crazier! Wake up ppl. Sam Darnold is an absolute loser of a linebacker oops I mean "QB".
Who gives a shit about high school stats of NFL players? No one. What a joke of an argument. Lawrence would be the worst NFL starter in the league if he played on the Jets this season.
You are guys are too much. The only way the Jets take Lawrence is if they can get a first round pick for Sam. You should be building him up and blaming lack on production on a bad line and no receivers. Actually, that's probably what the GM is saying to other teams.
Enough about the surrounding talent. Other young QB's are lighting it up with shitty teams. Sam's just not good.
This makes absolutely no sense. Nobody is trading a first rounder for Darnold and even as it is, this team will look way different next year with all the early picks and cap space we have.
I'm just pointing out how Trevor was one of the greatest HS QBs all time while Sam was a converted HS LB lol And Trevor doesn't turn the ball over in college compared to Sam who was a USC turnover machine. And Trevor Lawrence would never put up 4 yards of offense during an NFL 2nd half. Ever. Jets or no Jets. No weapons? Lol Sam had a top 5 WR in Robby Anderson and made him look like a 2nd option lol
Exactly. Sam had MULTIPLE O-Lineman who are now starting for winning teams. Sam had a top 5 NFL WR in Robby Anderson who Sam under and over threw every single game! And Tanny put up QB Ratings of 92 and 93 under GASE compared to Sam's pathetic QB Rating of 65 as a 3rd year QB!!! How many players are we going to go through before these clueless Jet fans realize Sam Darnold is the #1 problem?!?!?
Please God give me Trevor Lawrence who won 41 consecutive games in HS, 35-1 @ Clemson and has been a QUARTERBACK PHENOM SINCE HIGHSCHOOL compared to a converted HS LINEBACKER in college! Fans who think 13,000 passing yards compared to 3,000 passing yards in HS means nothing are absolutely insane.
At this point in time, I would even consider grabbing Fields if we don't end up picking 1st overall. For anyone not listing QB as a need for this team is delusional. Sam has too many glaring weaknesses, IMO, to be a great starter in this league: -Low Completion % -Durability -Ball Security -Interceptions / Reading Defenses -Consistency I was wrong about him, I will admit it. I even created a thread all about how he was the only QB worth taking in that draft. His issues have worsened during his short tenure here. I think that Sam's ceiling is a middle of the pack starter--maybe a Jeff Garcia type with great coaching and system.
perhaps some of you guys may be right that Sam isn’t as good as we thought...But I’m sorry you guys are Just piling on this poor guy.... if you think Trevor Lawrence could do better with the worst offensive line, receivers, and With Adam Gase as your HC like Sam had then you’re just kidding yourself...at this point I really hope he gets a chance with a decent organization because he sure as hell didn’t get that chance with the Jets...
While our defense has fell off a cliff without him but fk it we at least got two 1st round picks for Jamal due to being a great player and an All Pro 1st team NFL star. Sam? Haha We couldn't even receive a 4th or 5th rounder for him as of right now because he's the 32nd rated QB the worst QB Rating (65) in all of football and now coming off a 31.1 QB Rating performance against Buffalo... 31.1!
Jamal is the best player in the league at his position and a lot of people think we won that trade. Sam has been about 27th-32nd best QB during his time in the NFL. Still have no idea what point you're trying to make.
These other young quarterbacks that you’re talking about has at least one receiver or a decent head coach....Didn’t anybody Notice that this guy was running for his life on Sunday???You could say he’s not picking up the blitzes but doesn’t that come down to coaching??
