Looking at the Jets in the overall grand scheme of how they are playing, Gase has to take all the blame. The D is horrible, special teams , you name it. I'm not saying Darnold can't be criticized but at 23 he's got a long career ahead of him. I would like to see any QB thrive with this present group. The Jets are down to their 4th/5th level receivers and they have lost their 2 starting left tackles. But teams like the 49'ers seem oblivious to having their share of injuries. Why?

Gase is in over is head. He's not a leader! He belongs on the side lines sitting on a bench writing scribe notes.

Fair enough. I exaggerated the two or three game stretch.

But how is Burrow dink and dunking when he averaged 10 yards a completion? Also - Sam gets to use the excuse of having pressure in his face but it's Burrow's fault when he gets sacked 8 times? That's even more support that he has equally shitty support with a running game that mustered 49 yards on 2.9 YPC.

Quarterbacks don't get anything more than the duration of their rookie contract to show that they're worthy of being a franchise quarterback in this league. He hasn't shown it for me as disappointing as it is, regardless of supporting cast.

The Colts run a Cover 2. Look at where all the picks came from on the field.

This is simply Gase telling him to throw blindly into the open windows of the coverage. None of these picks were bad picks but essentially Gase scripting bad quick-hit plays against a good secondary.

It's pretty obvious. When Darnold is improvising on the fly he's rarely making these careless throws, and just trying to find the open receiver.

If he was throwing INTs while scrambling or on audibles I would blame Darnold more. But this looks like Gase's shit playcalling and scripting.

  5. Yeah it’d be another bad fit.Doesnt surprise that Gase liked Mayfield the best coming out.He wants guys w good feet, quick release quick decision making on 3 & 5 step drops ball delivered on time & accurately but also w the arm strength to throw vertically.

    Mayfield,Garrapolo,Murray,Rivers,Cutler,Etc

Sam Darnold is close to being a career backup. If he shits the bed on Thursday it will be official. How much of it had to do with the situation he wound up in with the Jets? Probably a lot. But we cant undo that now. Same is going to join Rosen in the backup club and Mayfield will probably join them by seasons end.

And ironically, the guy we chose not to hire and the guy that some people here balked at who ended up getting hired in Arizona and coaches Kyler Murray has him out of his comfort zone yet still thriving.

Just making sure I’m reading this right but you’re saying it’s Gases fault and his play calling that Sam is forcing balls into tight windows and that’s resulting in the INTs?

Or maybe Sam is playing right into our wishes. Playing bad enough to get Gase gone, have JBC be the new OC and he starts to thrive. Mwhahaha

That would be the ideal outcome this season. Sam plays well enough to show that with a few more weapons, he can take a big leap in year 4. And we get Chase with our 1st rounder in 2021.

I get what you're saying BUT ... You better watch the play again. Herndon was Standing in the EZ with nobody within 10 yards of him. Somebody released him 2 yards after the LOS, maybe the corner ... thinking he had help behind him, but there was nobody home. Sam had already made up his mind to hit Cager so he never looked at the other side. Would have been the easiest TD in history.

EDIT - just froze it and YOU are correct. Looks like the CB released him when he was sure Sam was going to Cager ... who appeared to be open.

You're really obsessed with crowning Kingsbury and Murray. He has 4 passing touchdowns and 5 picks this year. He hasn't thrown more touchdowns than interceptions in any game this season yet and he's beaten one good team, one bad team and lost to a bad team.

And while we're a dumpster fire, and Murray had a solid rookie year, he's not the MVP you make him out to be every time you bring him and Kingsbury up.

This seems dramatic. When have I ever called Murray an MVP candidate or even acted like it? Have I even mentioned his name more than 5 times in my history on this website? You conveniently left out his 4 rushing TDs this season, a product of a coach that designed an offense around a young, talented QB that needed development. Crazy concept.

If you can't see why Gase and Kingsbury are relevant to each other then I dunno what to tell you. Especially when people here laughed at the notion of Kingsbury being a competent NFL coach.

Everytime you bring up Kingsbury you compliment him.

Considering he's 7-11-1 as a head coach so far, I don't think he can really be judged, but he certainly hasn't proved himself as a competent NFL head coach yet.

Matt Patricia was 9-10-1 to start off with the Lions. Is he any better?

Boy this went from "you're obsessed with crowning Kingsbury" to "you complimented him three times" pretty quickly...

Maybe an exaggeration but you've defended him a couple times so far when he's proved pretty much nothing. Point being that being a better option than Gase doesn't make him a good option.

I wouldn't say he's proven nothing. That's another exaggeration. The point is people thought he was going to be an absolute flop and some of those same people lost their minds at the very insinuation that Gase might suck. One of them is a flop for the fifth year in a row, the other is in his second year and has already had an offense rank higher than any Gase offense as a head coach in points and early on in this season, has a top 10 scoring offense to go with it. All while doing it with a QB that most people thought would need at least a year to acclimate. In a crazy turn of events, the COACH acclimated to the PLAYER and it's working out.

Well again. We can go back to Patricia. He had the 17th ranked offense in terms of yards, 18th in points for and 10th in passing yards after his first year. Look at him now.

Let's see what happens with Kingsbury. A 5-10-1 season with middle of the pack offensive rankings and an OK start to his second season doesn't look like anything has been proven. We may have different standards though.

Look at Kingsbury in a vacuum. Gase sucks. We know this. Now isolate Kingsbury by himself and let's see how successful he ends up being.

I don't think it's outlandish to say things are looking up for the Cardinals and I also don't think it's outlandish to say Kingsbury is a big part of that. That's really all I've ever said. I do think Murray is thriving as a QB. Decision-making comes with experience (when you're developed properly) but in terms of commanding an NFL offense and running it, he's doing a good job.
