Of course they're different, and I'm not trying to prove anything. My point was about being rushed back. Opinions are not facts, but it is my assertion and my opinion that Pennington was rushed back into the lineup in 2005 and that it didn't help his propensity for bad luck. Andrews was a pioneer of the surgery let alone the operating surgeon and yes, he cleared him. I already said that Pennington returned of his own volition. My post was simply about rushing a player back with a health issue whether he tripped on his face or contracted monkey pox. Apples and oranges isn't the issue.
If you took the variations of this play out of the offense I'd be very concerned at how one dimensional we'd become.
Stopped reading after the line I bolded/italicized....not as accurate as Baker? Not sure who wrote this, but have they been watching Baker at all this year? Not saying Darnold is "Mr. Accurate" or anything, but Baker is completing 56% of his passes this year, and on the eye test it matches. He throws the ball ALL OVER the place. In my opinion, Baker's worst quality is his wild inaccuracy. His big plays usually come when he breaks the pocket and finds a guy wide open and it doesn't matter where he places it. In fact, this matches his college tape, where most of his throws were to somebody with acres of ground around them. Baker is NOT a window thrower. If Darnold doesn't turn out to be as great as we all hope he is, I'm fairly certain that this QB class will be remembered as one of the more disappointing ones of all time. Hopefully he does.
I was able to barely stomach that part. But then I got to this part: "Instead, through four games, he has 11 catches for 131 yards and no touchdowns. Anderson had 81 of those yards in Week 2. He has four catches for 27 yards in his last two games combined. Despite those alarmingly low statistics, Anderson is enjoying the best season of his career."
To me it almost feels like week 1 all over again. We'll see. I was pumped up after the bye we saw how that went.
This team has far too many problems for Darnold to turn it around on his own. The O-Line stinks to high heaven and it apparently takes someone of Peyton Manning's greatness to overcome the awfulness of Gase's gameplanning and playcalling. This one might be slightly less ugly than the last two games, but it's still going to be a laugher.
It's things like this that make me so excited about Darnold. This is EXACTLY what you want to see from a second year QB. Looking off safeties, adjusting routes, identifying coverage's. Not only is it incredibly clear what was missing those past 4 games, but it is clear what we have on our hands for years to come. This kid is special
