It’s a little gesture that says a lot. Sam isn’t fucking around anymore. Wish we could bury those stupid gifs of him too.
I’d love to know what the fan expectations of Sam are for this season. I saw some weak ones like 24TD’s 3500 yards etc (Ryan Tannehill type numbers). If he puts up those kind of numbers I think it’ll be a long season. Top tier QB’s are throwing a very low number of picks now with a boatload of TD’s. Stats don’t tell the whole story but the better QB’s always have good ones. Kirk Cousins threw 30 TD’s to 10 Ints’s and 4200 yards, which put him in the top 3rd (on the lower end) performance wise. I want a QB who is better than Kirk Cousins.
It's tricky because Darnold is 22 now, which is a year younger than Cousins was when he was drafted. I expect a year 2 jump, but I wouldn't be shocked if his best seasons in subsequent years as the OL hopefully improves and he has more dynamic skill players to work with. For this season, I'm going 4000 YDS, 28 TD's, 10 INT's.
That would be a solid year that keeps us competitive and shows that Sam is headed in the right direction. Certainly not top tier numbers, but not bad.
Kirk Cousins is like a showroom car stats-wise. . Looks nice and all but when the rubber meets the road doesn't really end up getting you anywhere. Sam on the other hand is starting to look like Mike Tauchman in pads. . Mike Tauchman. .
That's about right. 4,000 yards, 25TD's and a 65% completion percentage and a QB rating around 95 would put him in the top half of last years QB's. If Sam is going to be elite he needs to be at least in the middle of the pack.
Sorry, I don’t get the comparison. Not a baseball fan. Regarding Cousins, I don’t know, I didn’t really see him play much last season. I’m guessing he wasn’t winning them games, but they weren’t losing because of his play either.
. .That's ok, .I don't get the Kirk Cousins love. . . As for Mike Tauchman, .he's one of the ascending greats of the diamond. . Think Jimmy Garoppolo-good-looks-meets-Ken Griffey Jr-talent. .
There is no Kirk Cousins love. He was randomly picked from a group of the top tiered statistical performances by QB’s last season.
“He has a different way about him,” Gase said of Darnold. “He’s just like an old-school NFL quarterback. You respect him. He never blames anybody else. He holds himself to a higher standard than anyone else. He holds himself accountable. And the way he can approach guys – if something is not right, he has a way of getting the attention of guys and he has a way of commanding the huddle. … It’s hard to put it into words. He has an ‘it’ factor to him. It’s been fun for me to be around to witness a 22-year-old that has that kind of way about him.”
Hate to say I told you so (not really); why couldn’t the Patsies draft Finley, Lock or Grier? I hate them. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...-been-the-star-of-patriots-training-camp/amp/
