who is talking about 2 ints in game 7? im talking about his entire college career where he was inaccurate/threw alot of picks and ALL 7 of his first pro starts where he was inaccurate and threw a bunch of picks.

awesome he threw a game tying touchdown in the first quarter of a week 7 game. but thats no indicator he is a franchise qb.

124 of 221 on the year... 56%. that is really awful especially in todays NFL. he has been under 50% in 3 of the 5 games. again, awful... and even with excuses it is awful. for example he was 17 of 42 this week. im sure you will say "his WR dropped passes!" we had 4 drops, even if you make those all catches he is still at a putrid 50% completions.

He has a 1 to 1 TD to int ratio... 10 TD, 10 INTs. he throws a pick once every 22 attempts. again, this is awful. like mark sanchez at his worst level awful.

whats worse, is that its across the board. inaccurate on short passes, inaccurate on mid level passes, inaccurate on deep passes.

The only 2 games he really played decent in (Lions, Denver) where in blowouts where the defense/special teams//run game dominated.

I don't know why I'm entertaining your garbage, but this is laughably stupid and factually incorrect.

So you didn't watch last week? Just throwing a bunch of negative numbers hoping you are making a point but you really aren't.

There fact is that the offense is bad. No elite talent and inconsistent OL. Expecting more out of Darnold than we've seen is asking for too much, imo.

For one thing Anderson has a tweaked hammy so might not be at full speed. Second there was a tremendous wind effect yesterday that might have made the long throw sail a bit.

Regardless, comparing him to Sanchez is ridiculous. The guy was playing one of the best teams and defenses in the league without two of his best WR and with another playing with a tweaked hammy in very windy conditions. And lost one of his top RB early in the game and the running game was non existent. He had several critical drive killing drops and started in bad field position most of the time. He is a rookie and didnt have his best game but Its not like Cousins was lighting it up despite great field position all day.

Discrediting stats, especially when it is so heavily lopsided on one side, is bad practice when evaluating players.

look at the history of players who had less then 58% completions and more then 20 ints in their rookie year.
through his first 7 NFL games:

    124 of 221 | 56% Completions (31st in the NFL)
10 interceptions (most in the NFL)

"laughably stupid and factually incorrect"?? he has more picks then any QB. he is 31st in a 32 team league in completion%. those are FACTS.

in a league where you cant hit the QB, cant hit WRs and every rule favors the passing game he struggles just to complete passes and throw to the guys on his team not the other team.

If he was an accurate QB who protected the ball in college thats one thing... but so far all of the concerns on him have 100% come to life in the first 7 games.

he is 21.... can he get better? of course... he WILL get better. but right now he is playing like a bottom 5(arguably worst) qb in football. becoming an elite QB is more then just improving. he would need to become 2 things he currently is not" 1) accurate, 2) careful with the football.

The comparisons to sanchez are not about yestardays game vs the vikings... its about his 7 game body of work an inaccurate/turnover prone body of work at USC.

Sanchez was 54% completons 20 ints his rookie year. right now darnold is 56% completions and 10 ints and we havent hit the really bad weather year (rain, snow, sub 40 degree temps, on the road in buffallo, new england)

the weather and conditions only get worse from here.

is it really alot to expect to ask him not to lead the NFL in interceptions? like i dont need him to be a probowler but not having a higer turnover rate then mark sanchez would be nice

You're so bad at trolling that I think you forgot what you said. Again, I'll be the idiot and entertain your dogshit, but you said "im talking about his entire college career where he was inaccurate/threw alot of picks". That is laughably stupid and factually incorrect.

If its not about yesterday why didnt you post this last week after the Denver game?

If you dont like Darnold, you probably should start looking for a new team to root for. He will probably be playing for the Jets for the next 15 or more years. I think he is much more likely to be a perennial all Pro than a bust based on what Im seeing

64% completions (53% on passes traveling over 10 yards) and 22 picks in 27 games. how is that not inaccurate and turnover prone for college? yes maybe that would be ok in the NFL, but this is college. 22 picks in 27 games is not good.

This isnt some wild claim, nearly every scout, even those that had Darnold as a top 5 pick/future franchise QB acknowledge his inaccuracy and turnovers and listed that as something that needs to improve

because its not about any 1 game... its about his entire body of work. 7 games is nearly 1/2 the season. and its been a bad 7 games. he has more picks then anyone in the NFL and is 31st in completion percentage over half a season.

im not some fair weather fan. i root for the jets good or bad. i rooted for them through sanchez and geno being awful. ill do the same for darnold and the next guy or whomever dawns the green and white.

but im not going to pretend darnold has played well just because he is supposed to be the savior

He is 21 with a garbage O-Line, the worst center in the league that is so bad he cannot snap the ball properly and has 1 quality receiver in the team that is constantly injured......

    - Let the kid go through his growing pains this year, spend the cap room on OL and WR and lets see how he does next year.

It's almost like you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about:

    http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2018SDarnold.php

    "Naturally accurate passer"
    "Fits passes into tight windows"
    "Excellent ball placement"

    https://www.nfl.com/prospects/sam-darnold?id=32462018-0002-5600-578a-86541c8f8891

"Throws with desired anticipation and timing"
    "Trusts his arm and placement"
    "Naturally accurate with tight spirals"

    https://www.profootballweekly.com/2018/04/19/nfl-draft-profile-no-9-usc-qb-sam-darnold/afeq4kb/

"Has great sense of timing and touch to throw to spots where his receivers can go get it — throws them open. Short and intermediate accuracy can be excellent — can bullet the slant and the quick out beautifully. Nice downfield touch, too. Fades and back-shoulder throws are usually pretty.

Sweet, so let's leave out his best game statistically to try and prove your point. You aren't a fairweather fan, you aren't a fan of this team period ... go bother another forum with this non-sense.

Sanchez and Geno's problem wasn't that they sucked as rookies (though both of them were worse than Darnold), it's that they didn't improve afterward.

Who is leaving it out? his best game in week 6 is included in the 7 game sample. im not just looking at wees 1-5 and 7 with 6 omitted.

only fools use 1 game to try and evaluate someone when they could use a 7 game sample instead
