i wouldn't want you there either if you're going to act like an idiot and break things that aren't yours over a draft pick that isn't yours...

We have too many holes, we cant give up that many early draft picks. Its not worth it, I would rather have the picks.

Yeah, our MAYBE premiere LT will be blocking for no name RB's for the next 10 years while Bush is breaking every record ever set for another team. Oh boy where do I sign up?

Lets let this one get away so we can draft a couple OL and a 2nd round LB, and watch our team with 0 superstars be mediocre for another decade. What could be better?

to me there is no great difference in the talent level between 29 adn 35. I just don't want us throwing in a high pick next year. Do not overpay. Not for Bush. Not for any player.

Just don't give up next year's 2nd round pick. I'm of the school that no matter what, never give up a pick in the first two rounds in the future. I know the team has a lot of holes, but I'd much, MUCH rather give #71 than a pick in next year's 2nd.

Gentlemen, we simply have too many holes on both sides of the line to have the luxury of giving up half our draft picks for one player. Lets be honest here. We are not a good team right now and we have to do a complete rebuild. Now would I like to have R. Bush on our sidelines? Yes. Am I willing to give up a Kings ransom for him? No. Folks, just a week ago, everybody was talking about how we should trade DOWN out of #4 and rape some team for all their draft picks. Forgive me for saying this but I don't want to be the one taken to the cleaners. A DAMN GOOD player is going to be available at #4. Now unless somebody blows us out of the water with a trade offer I say we grab him.

Look at Denver, if you can block you can have a 1000 yard rusher. What good is a RB running behind swiss cheese?

Something for people to keep in mind is when SD traded the #1 to Atlanta so they could take Vick. Vick as the "can't miss", "game breaker", "difference maker".... player and SD ended up with LT and Drew Brees and I believe they got another pick or two. While Drew hasn't been great, LT has and the combo of those two are greater then Vick.

Here's the question to keep in mind. Which is of greater benefit to the team

Bush or Ferguson/enter QB name here/AJ Hawk/enter other pic, Nick Mangold/LB/OT/OG and whomever we'd pick up at #71

It's a tough question but your example of Vick doesn't make me feel as bad if we make the move for Bush. SD while probably the most talented team in football last year didn't make the playoffs. Vick is 2 & 2 in the playoffs and Atlanta made a legit run at the SB a couple of years ago.

This team lacks playmakers on offense.. get bush is like getting the ultimate Playmaker in college football. bush is the kinda of guy that will attract FA into wanting to come here again.

This is not Vick we are going after it is LT. The Jets did not have two 3rds and two 1sts going into this year. So who cares if we have to give up those extra picks to get the next LT? SD did not have a line and LT did just fine. You can still get an OL in the second, so you can have your cake and eat it too.

Not as bad, but if "we" do this I'm afraid it would be like the Ricky Williams/Mike Ditka draft.

That is really incorrect. Ditka gave up the draft, the entire draft for Ricky. And you know what? If it wasn't for the drugs - he was worth it.

im going to write down some user names here because in the future when we see reggie breaking records left and right. I am going to mention that we let a third round pick who 50% chance wont be on roster break our chances for reggie.

RBs are always available. There are more good RBs than any position in football. Plus, it is usually the line that makes the RB and not the other way around. Look at Denver, Pittsburg, KC - those teams have great OLs and it doesn't matter who runs the ball.

The Jets can draft a RB next year, or one in the 2nd or 3rd round, and still have a very successful running game if the OL is improved. Give up those picks for Bush and our OL is still looking weak and the picks to improve it are gone.
