People need to realize we have a pretty decent shot at getting Bush at #4 now so there's no reason to go crazy. The Saints have a lot of money tied up in Deuce and the Titans desperately need a QB. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we shouldn't trade up, just the the FO is doing the right thing but weighing their options and not jumping in. The three picks we give up may end up being more important to the team then one person, even Reggie Bush. RB is not even close to our biggest need too so they need to do what they think is best for the team. If they can make a deal, that's great. If not, then we have three picks to get some pretty good players.
Hopefully when i wake up tomorrow the Jets have the 2nd overall pick and didnt get raped in the process.
It's almost certainly going to be a rape, but we will have the crown jewel if it happens. Not that I expect anybody to heed my advice, but nobody should be angry with the FO if they don't cut a deal. There are alot of valid reasons to keep 29/35 and 71.
I am most worried about San Fran. Could you imagine if they get him?? Bush and Alex Smith played together in high school.
That's true, and San Francisco does have need: somebody behind center who can get their hand around the ball.
"The New York Jets are negotiating with the New Orleans Saints to trade up into the #2 spot...". Guaranteed that's the story.
Saints are showing Reggies agent that they have every intention to take Bush. My guess is though that they are trying to get teams to put in a better offer. It wouldnt make sense for them to take Bush with Duece on the roster. Reported by Sal pal antonio... i cant spell that mans name.
The story is that Bush's agent says the Saints say they have every intention of taking him, BUT THAT NEGOTIATIONS HAVE NOT STARTED!!!!! Let's go Tanny, become the KING OF NYC 2-nite!!!!!!!!!
The last report was Bush's agent saying N.O was going to pick him...I have been totally against DBrick all the while, now, I feel physically ill just thinking about him at #4
You're right and that's a risk and why the FO should consider the trade but not enough of the reason to blindly make it in my opinion. We all need to keep in mind that these other teams would have to give up much more and can push the price of the trade up so we could end up having to give up more to do it.
In a normal year, I'd agree. Yet whether or not the Saints move from NOLA, drafting Reggie Bush would be a great way for Tom Benson to make up with the people of New Orleans for his shabby treatment of them. He can always make the money up if he sells or moves the team, the bids for which would skyrocket. There are alot of non-football reasons for the Saints to draft him, aside from the obvious football ones. That said, they'll trade out if they get the offer.
Get it done any which way possible. Everybody knows Martin is at the end of his career, and all world backs like Bush don't come along very often. granted, there are some questions about durability. Can he carry 20 times a game?
They are shopping, according to Paolantonio they offered the Jets #2 for #4, #29 and #71 but the Jets turned it down.
