Russ Lande (ex NFL scout) at National Football Post still has Nassib #1 on his big board.

He also has Damontre Moore at 64 and Eddie Lacey at 90.

His board has been like that a good long time and does not at all reflect his mock drafts.

Gil Brandt says that Nassib reminds him of Colt McCoy. He thinks he won't stand in the way of a good team making a Super Bowl run.

Brandt's QB's for 2013 just before the combine:

    4. Geno Smith
    31. Matt Barkley
    36. E.J. Manuel
    57. Landry Jones
    59. Matt Glennon
    64. Ryan Nassib
    71. Tyler Wilson
    83. Tyler Bray

This is just before the combine but nothing happened at the combine to affect anybody's status with the possible exception of E.J. Manuel who looked good there.

Jets interested in Ryan Nassib, too

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/03/jets-interested-in-ryan-nassib-too/

Syracause Ryan Nassib has multiple workouts scheduled over the next few days. One team not on the list nevertheless has a high level of interest in Nassib.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Jets have shown considerable interest in Nassib, both during the season (when Mike Tannenbaum was the General Manager) and after the season (when John Idzik got the job).

The Jets, we’re told, scouted Nassib aggressively during his final season at Syracuse, and they spent extra time with him after his Pro Day workout, including taking him to dinner.

While the Jets may not be willing to invest the ninth overall pick on any quarterback given their other needs, they need someone who can run Marty Mornhinweg’s offense — especially if there’s any concern about Mark Sanchez’s ability to do so.

I don't really want Nassib but I'd rather get him with our second rounder than Geno with our first.

I have seen a lot of mocks lately having Matt Scott go early in 3rd before we pick. I don't think he is a sleeper and Nassib is certainly not a sleeper. But I like Scott better than Nassib because like all the QBs in this drafts they are longshots to succeed and Scott adds an extra dimension with his ability to run the ball. At worst he can run the wildcat and still contribute.

I have seen Nassib often mocked to the Jets now in the 2nd for a couple of months, I am really curious where all the QBs get drafted. With the recent signings/trades by the Bills/Cards/ it could mean a freefall for a lot of these QBs. Smith could conceivably drop out of the top 20. Manuel looks like a good bet to be gone by the time we pick in the 2nd if not taken in the 1st. But the rest Barkley, Bray, Nassib, Glennon, and Wilson are in danger of dropping. All looked like good bets a month ago to go by early round 2. Now I would say its likely a few of these guys plus Scott could end up in round 3 or maybe even 4.

I do agree with Northern above that I would much rather blow a draft pick in rounds 2-4 on one of the above QBS than the number 9 on Smith. Simply because if the QB outside rd one was does not pan out next year we can move on and draft another in 2014 rather than being stuck with possibility of another Sanchez for 3+ years.

Why would the Jets ever allow this information to get leaked out if they were really interested in Nassib? Why give out this information which would allow a team like the Bills to leap frog them in the 2nd round to talke him. If this is true, I would imagine Idzik is furious right now. I would be more willing to be that they release this information as a smoke screen to hide the fact that they are more interested in Glennon or maybe Manuel

The fact that they took him to dinner is showing they are not interested in hiding any potential interest. Now if one chooses to believe the Press reports this time of year is another story entirely.

I'm sure the Jets weren't the only team to take him out to dinner. I wouldn't mind Nassib, but I find it hard to believe that the organization would let this leak if they were truly interested in him.

i am all for the team taking a qb as soon as the value matches the available prospect. if thats smith at 9 or nassib, manuel, barkley in the 2nd thats fine with me. i don't know or will pretend to know their draft board but i know we need to find a franchise qb so take every shot that presents it self every year till it happens
