Geno is probably the worst starting qb in the NFL. If Fitz can even play like the 31st best qb in the NFL, the Jets are already in better shape. And I think Fitz has shown that while he will never be a top 10 qb, he is more than capable of being an average NFL qb, which is much better than what Geno is, and will get the Jets to the playoffs.
Veteran QB, knows the offense already the Jets will be able to use 100% of their playbook right from the start. Veteran team with a veteran at QB I think it's a huge upgrade for the Jets. I'm hopeful the Bowles Jets can turn into what the Arians Cardinals have become.
I'm not thrilled how it happened but happy it did. I was one of the first to push for Fitz before we traded for him. When we signed him I was thrilled thinking we did it for him to be the starter day 1 and was disappointed by the lack of true competition. I'll also be the first to eat crow if he sucks but all he has to do is minimize turnovers and give us average NFL QB play and let our run game and strong play on defense carry us.
Fitz can't be any worse than Smith. Smith is the worse starting QB over the last two season, so can't be any lower. Considering Fitz was a starting QB during that time, its an automatic upgrade.
