To me this feels a lot like the Rodgers/Packers situation. Hall of Fame QB's making a plea to the organization to help surround them with better talent. I don't think either guy is going anywhere.

We’ll give them their picks back for Wilson.

"I'm not sure if I'm available or not. That's a Seahawks question." Wilson today on the Dan Patrick show

Wilson has been great for a long time, of course, but he's also got some wear on the tires. Considering the style he plays and how he's been hit through the years, I don't see him having a Rodgers-like decade in his 30s, let alone Brady-like in his 40s. IMO anyone who thinks the Jets shouldn't get Watson because the team won't be a contender for a couple of years should be even less interested in Wilson.

For a couple of weeks now I've been wondering about Sam as a Seahawk. Not based on anything other than a random thought about the USC connection and playing indoors might help him (seems to help all QBs)

Seems to be a recurring theme recently. Super talented QB gets massive contract and then wonders why he's surrounded by less talent, less depth. Hmmm wonder why that is....

All that said i love Wilson and think his comments about wanting input are fair. I think players can add value by identifying who's the real deal and who is phoney. ALso chemistry

the issue is how much weight the input gets. Obviously in Watson's case it was messed up because it seems like FO first said Yes and then No even on input

I’d give up the moon for Russ. I’d give up more for Russ than ARod or Watson.

I hope the Jets don't get R. Wilson. Too old and too expensive.

Man if we just waited a year we could've given the Seahawks Jamal Adams and Ashytn Davis for Wilson and a first.

The Seahawks spent 2nd and 4th round picks on a safeties in 2019, 3rd, 4th and 6th round picks on safeties in 2017, traded a 5th round pick for Quandre Diggs and a 7th round selection last year, and traded two 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick to us for Jamal Adams. They signed Bradley McDougald in 2017.

They also used a 5th round pick on Tre Flowers in 2018 but they converted him into a pretty good corner so I'll give them a mulligan.

    They love safeties.

Huh? He'll be 33 midway through next year. He's thrown 140 touchdowns to 36 interceptions over the past four years as the team fell apart around him. He's been sacked am average of 47 times a year in that time and they're 42-22 over that time with a division title and three playoff appearances.

He's still on his QB prime and has at least 4-5 good years left in him. Wilson is fucking awesome. He's one of the few that instantly makes nearly every team a playoff team regardless of what's around him. He has single digits wins in one season. And he had good teams around him to start his career but not as of late.

Now the package would have to be less than Watson given the years of production left.

Quarterbacks will continue to play for longer because there's about a three foot area they can be hit in and are extremely protected. Brady is a bit of an anomaly deep into his 40's, but 40 is the new 37 for quarterbacks as long as their arms don't fall off.

    Lol beat me to it.
    That would be some steal.

Maybe Ciara will want NY for career ambitions.
Same reason Gretzky went to LA.

Within a year or two, I think we're going to see a radically different NFL. Many people won't like it, but I welcome it. I think we'll see an NFL where the players have a LOT more power and the owners a LOT less. Star players are going to continue to speak out, especially when they're QBs and taking a pounding like Watson and Wilson have. They're going to force their teams to listen to them and build better OLs, or they're going to have to trade them. They're not going to sit quietly like good little employees any more.I think FA will change, contracts will change, and I also believe in an unrelated development that we're going to have a lot more minority HCs and coordinators.

Russ would be the best thing to happen to the Jets since Joe Willy
