$12M a yr for this scrub? WTF are the Giants thinking. Wow that's just bad. This guy is a $7M/$8M space eater nothing more.
JoeD should offer to take Big Cat back if the Giants pay his contract and give us their 2020 1st round pick. Sounds fair to me!
Too bad, was looking forward to that pick becoming a 4th. But the fact the Giants gave us two picks for bum ass Leonard Williams is a victory in itself.
That's what happens when you just repeat things from the internet. "Report of Leonard Williams Signing Extension with Giants was False" https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/arti...tension_with_giants_was_false/s1_127_31513007
Seriously? You're defending a guy posting a bogus story? And I didn't just repeat something from the internet; I searched and found more than one piece from media people who said they didn't know the guy who wrote the fake story and that his Twitter account was cancelled. I also saw a Tweet from a guy who's been doing NFL stuff for a long time who says Williams' agent denied any deal and he hasn't closed his account. Do you have anything to add to the discussion or are you just looking to cause problems?
Regardless if it's a 3rd/4th or most likely a 3rd/5th; Joe Douglas did really good in regards to a player who failed to live up to his draft stock. Hopefully we turn that 3rd rounder into a dynamic WR, an O-Line Hog up front, a talented and athletic pass rusher or a sleeper pick @ CB. Even a nice RB to spell Le'Veon Bell come the 3rd round would be awesome. Either way JD has us in position to strike with our Leonard Williams pick.
The third round pick for 2020 was the centerpiece obviously. Whether or not the 2021 pick is a fourth or a fifth is just icing on the cake....the Jets won this trade.
If you're the Jets with Leo last season and an opportunity comes up to get a 3rd round pick in the 2020 draft from a lousy team that will draft high you grab it and run crowing to the bank. The 2021 pick was always just a maraschino cherry on the sundae. I'm thinking if the Jets just asked for the 3rd round pick the Giants probably say no. It was Jedi Mind Tricks of the highest order to demand another pick *and* give the Giants the idea that they could screw us in the process instead of the reality that giving us the prime pick was screwing them from the get-go.
Agree completely. May our third round pick turn out to be a future all pro and the maraschino pick a hidden gem for us.
It's really the most bizarre player/contract situation I've ever seen. I don't know how the hell this dude has duped the Giants so badly. Are we missing something? Does he have a 1,400 PFF rating out of 100 against the run? Because he sure can't rush the passer.
