FYI - A few questioned that I said lots of seats were left in the 20K sections on Jets side by GHC. Well I just had my friend call up to request options for her ten friends who want to buy seats together in the 20K area and asked for best options. Well Row 24/25 5 in one row and 5 directly by by GHC was open and a row or two behind that they had ten in a row. But that would take you further from GHC having ten in a row and would make it harder for everyone to talk to each other so the five and five was recommended. So in my opinion when I have multiple options to seat ten people together the section is pretty empty.
I hope there is a blackout- This place should've soldout months ago- Millions of Jet fans and we can't sellout 82,000 seats in a NY market- ??? Come on "Jet' fans!!!
I hope it doesn't. Jet fans will send a message to owners of all Pro teams, lower your prices or only the cheap seats will sell. Of course, the media who always say the only voice you have is don't go, will kill Jet fans and say we don't have hardcore fans like the Giants. But Jet bashing is the norm these days. Its worh it
Whether their is a blackout or not it won't effect us who ponied up the cash for seats in the stadium. We have nothing to worry about!
It not the fans but the management that raised the prices to a level where "regular" fans can't and won't afford. They priced themselves out with the PSL's. The uppers will be rocking and the lowers will be bare. Don't matter to me, I'll be at the game in the uppers!
Regular fans aren't priced out in the 4K and 5K areas, especially with the 10% down rate they've been using lately and the 15 year payment plan. I'm a regular and I am able to have two seats in MezzA. I make $9 an hour while in college and I'm doing it. Once you get past the 5K though, thats when it gets a little ridiculous, for sure. But the fact is the 4K and 5K seats aren't even sold out yet and that is just embarassing.
I guess if you look at it year to year, its not bad, but do the math and tell me in 15 years how much one seat costs with PSL and Intrest and 3% ticket increase per year. I won't know mine because once it gets to $150-$175 range for the uppers. I will watch from my 100 inch 3D TV
What other passions or hobbies do you have?? Like I've said before people spend thousands on all different loves and passions in their life. This is my number passion and spending the money is how I obtain it. When people like to travel they spends thousands of dollars every year because they love to do it.
You are paying the 4 of 5 K over 15 years with interest first of all. But what changed my mind by reading this thread is that the Jets are charging a certain price for your ticket (I don't know how much per ticket you are being charged) and they can raise that price and you can't do anything about it because you have that 5k + invested in keeping that seat. You are a college student. Many of us have a family, house, etc. to where a large amount of our income goes. I love going to the games and am more than willing to sit in the uppers with many fans in the same boat as I am. The seats I was talking about are the $10,000 PSL with high individual game ticket prices. Who wants to pay well over $200 for an individual game. That's just too high. The PSL sales are probably a clear indication of that fact.
Some of the PSL's come with a price lock guarantee. I can't imagine any increases after year 1, look at the Yanks, they had to reduce pricing.
I have changed my mind. I do not think the Upper Deck will sell out for this season. They are and have been pushing hard for everyone in UD in a bad seat to move down to nothing down PSL seats and a decent amount took the bait. I was looking in stubhub this week and UD crappy seats are going for below face for both pre-season and for Houston and Bengals. In fact only Ravens and Pats go for enough above face to cover stubhub fees for crappy seats. It is actually cheaper to buy all ten games on stub hub then to buy a season ticket if you have a crappy UD seat. If Jets stay true blue and only focus on PSL sales till early summer before they start re-selling UD tickets that only gives them a few weeks to sell all those crappy seats. Row 26 upper prime at $125 a ticket, row 26 UD corners at 105 and row 26 dead UD EZ for $95 may be cheap compared to PSLs but are not a bargain. Jets can easily offer Giants PSL owners all remaining seats to Jets/Giants preseason game on two weeks notice and then do a UD special on season tickets like last year where you only have to buy one preseason game and nine parking passes. When people in the Upper Deck are paying $855 with full play-off rights for season tickets come late August we will all be mad. But bottom line, I think the worst 3,000 seats upstairs are empty and come August with tons of seats for sale on stub hub good luck.
With the Uppers Woody will buy them and donate them to a children's organization or something- No harm there-
so basically what you are saying is that you really dont have any bills or responsibilities to worry about. its a much different situation when more responsibility is entered into the picture. trust me my thoughts on this would have been much different 10 or even 5 years ago.
Then there will be less of a line for the restroom come halftime according to your theory. I went to look at my upper deck seats and the rep didn't "push hard". She showed the comparison. There was no pressure to move down or used car sales pitch.
Obviously not everyone is going to go to the games- I just find it hard to believe that we could not get enough Jet fans to sell this place out. They went through a 10-15 year waiting list, why the hell be on the waiting list if you're waiting to pass on tickets offered.
Just maybe they do not want to pay for a PSL & since the non PSL UD is supposedly full they rather stay at home & watch the game on HD big screen TV
The Jets went through their waiting list like a hot knife through butter not only because of the PSL prices, it was the ticket prices. Then they reduced the $400 tickets to $295 and came back again and by then, Jets fans who had been on the Wait List for years (and paid $50 a year to be on it) finally had it and told them to go F*** themselves. I applaud Jets fans who were on the waitlist and told the Jets to shove it. That doesn't make them disloyal fans, it makes them smart New Yorkers with balls enough to tell Woody Johnson to go fuck himself, and now they'll fucking watch the games on their Samsung. Woody should never have fucked with the Jets fans this way and he's learning the hard way now.
