I hope Xavier Su'a Filo gets to the Jets pick. Since the run game will be the primary focus of the offense, I'd like the Jets to increase their firepower on the o-line.

If not, then Kony Ealy would be a nice consolation prize.

Both Matthews and Robinson have pretty good speed, so does Moncrief. Adams and Latimer aren't that far behind. There are other options at WR other than Landry.

Paul Richardson in round 3? 4.3 speed and very good YAC ability.

Pretty good analysis. After Round 1, are you ready to fire Idzik twice if he messes up here? So far, he has gotten a lot of support in media.

I'd love him..... As a CU fan from Colorado, I can tell you he's the real deal. He put up great numbers with nothing around him.....

I 100 percent agree with you that mistakes are made every year...I guess I my point was that given Lee's ridiculous 2012 year at a high profile USC every GM and coach probably did a lot of due diligence on him given his potential and they all passed which makes me a bit more skeptical now than I was yesterday. Pete Carroll was the coach there and he traded out of that spot and if we say that our special teams coach experience gives us an edge there we can't completely dismiss what happened last night in my opinion. I'm not saying he can't be great or that GMs don't make mistakes ,I'm just saying I'm a little more cautious now than I was before

Hey NCJetsfan : Idzik seems to be extremely patient and lets the draft come to him.
Is getting a quality speed WR important enough to trade up in the 2nd?
Or would you rather the Jets stand pat and gamble that one is there at 49.
There was a run on secondary players in the 1st round. A run on WRs is very possible.
Would you be ok staying at 49 and if "that speed guy" is not there.... taking the Best TE ?

Btw ... I really enjoy your posts.. probably because I agree with most of them :).
But I also really enjoy reading well thought out ideas.
Anyway .... wanted to know what you thought... sit at 49 or trade up to ensure getting that coveted WR?

Personally .... I like standing pat... if a trade up is wanted.. I don't want to part with anything higher than a 5th.
I get quite a lot of satisfaction in believing we got a bargain by being patient.

Don't take too much credence to that because its Nolan Nawrocki who wrote that. The same guy who said Geno Smith is lazy and a terrible leader and has a terrible personality and never is accountable for anything.

Besides, I think some of those draft profiles were written before the combine the way he's worded some of them.

ok a bit of an overraction but we have 12 picks and i just feel like we're gonna sit there and take'em all as they are. i just really wanna trade up in round 2, still a lot of talent and we dont have to give up too much (maybe a 4th/5th?)

targets tonight = jace amaro, jordan matthews, asj

get offense, and hopefully trade up into the 2nd if two nice offense weapons are still there

one by one, our targets in the 2nd are going. we need to make a move or we'll end up wasting draft picks

Thanks for your kind words. We're in agreement again. As much as I would like to get Matthews or Lee in the 2nd, I think it would be wasteful to trade up to get one of them. I'd rather the Jets stay put and take the BPA. Hopefully a WR they like will fall. If not, I'd be very happy with ASJ, Niklas, or whomever they see as the BPA, as long as it's not a DT. I'd rather it not be an OG, but if the best player left is an OG, I guess I would learn to deal with it, although I wouldn't be happy initially.

They say they tried "furiously" to trade up for Lee..knowing Idzik that means he offered an 8th rounder in 2029.

He wanted to trade up for Amaro.

Instead of just picking him at our spot. Where we got him.

We should just throw out 4th rounders for nothing. And the chicks for free.

Thx for the response, have been busy watching the draft. :D
I don't mind shopping out of the bargain bin.... Jets need talent across the board.

With Amaro .... is Austin s-Jenkins really any better?
They seem to have similar stats and honestly Amaro was stronger with 28 reps to ASJ's 20 reps.
I know you don't like Amaro, but along with Pryor .... we have 2 instant starters.
