I think Bostick makes the roster. He plays STs, can block and is a better receiver than Davis. Stanford may surprise as well.
I didn't hate him. I'm sure that he is a nice person, he just isn't very good at his job. I thought it was a wasted roster spot.
This is all pretty interesting stuff. We really don't know what the offense is going to be like. We might have some great young talent or nothing much at all. You can bet Marshall and Decker are going to be hurt at least part of the year, so who is going to take up the slack? We can't even say "no one" because the rest of the offense is basically a complete unknown. Ron
Marshall dropped passes, but no returns that I know of. Ross has a history of fumbles. He may not get signed by anyone else and the Jets may be able to bring him back. They may even plan on bringing him back after the 1st game so his salary isn't fully guaranteed. Also, hopefully Worthy makes the PS.
Shell better not be the backup LT or we're gonna need more QBs! If something happens to Clady (God forbid), Ijalana should got to LT and Shell backup the RT spot.
I noticed we kept WIlliams at RB does anyone know anything about him !?! wonder if he gets cut week 2
It's a process! Hopefully this roster sets up the Jets for years to come. Very encouraged by Burris, got the size and looks like he also has some decent technique. Dee was a piece of paper since he was at Alabama, I never understood that pick to begin with.
So that leaves Pryor, Enunwa, McDougle, and Dozier as the only leftovers from the Idzik 12 and the 2014 draft. And Dexter probably won't make it to week 2. Wow.
As an aside, unless you (in general) can point to an old post of you saying that we shouldn't have taken a particular player, then don't say you knew all along we shouldn't have taken that player.
The changeover between the 2014 and 2016 offensive skill players is amazing: 2014 2016 Geno Smith Fitzpatrick, Smith, Petty, Hackenberg Mike Vick Chris Ivory Matt Forte Chris Johnson Khiry Robinson Bilal Powell Bilal Powell Percy Harvin Dominique Williams John Conner Julian Howsare Jeremy Kerley Robby Anderson Greg Salas Quincy Enunwa Chris Owusu Brandon Marshall Tommy Bohannon Jalin Marshall Eric Decker Eric Decker Jace Amaro Charone Peake Jeff Cumberland Devin Smith David Nelson Brandon Bostick Zach Sudfeld Kellen Davis Ron
Well I understood the team picking a cornerback given that we just traded Revis away, but you're right. There should've been a deeper thought process regarding his injury history. The biggest thing that stands out to me with Burris is that he has active hands and uses them very well. He doesn't appear to be a ball hawk but he looks good at locating the ball and breaking up the play. He's also big and physical, which means he should be able to handle his own in run support, and matching up against bigger receivers (AJ Green, Julio Jones, etc.) while having fluid enough hips to stay with them on deeper patterns. Very encouraging about these mid to late round picks between Burris and Peake. Maccagnan's scouting background has proved to be a valuable asset in finding what (early on obviously) appear to be players that could have a future with this team.
