haven't heard anything. most likely means we opted not to sign him. pretty telling sign since we are desperate at LBer
Wonder why we don't do anything like this, if our corners get blown out all year JD will have some explaining to do. I wanted Nelson and we passed on him too. We are incredibly shallow at CB this year.
If he was a potential starting CB going for a 5th, you'd almost think Saleh would have his number, so rather than blame JD maybe Saleh said no thanks?
Is this going to be your response every time a corner signs or is traded for? Maybe JD and Saleh did not like his fit. I think it is much more than us just not going after anyone.
They like the potential of our young CBs. Saleh said as much, and they made the decision to sink or swim with them, so it was a joint discussion evidently and not just JD's decision.
There's still a matter of fit to account for. Honestly I don't know what Saleh is looking for in a corner specifically but the defense the Steelers run could not be more different from the Jets right now. Edit: yeah forget all that, I just realized where he was coming from. But the fact that the Steelers want him could mean he's more suited for jam coverage.
I suspect the answer to your question is yes, every CB that gets picked up will elicit the same response by some, as if the GM and HC are asleep at the switch and do not evaluate all candidates. I think going with the young group takes courage, but beats years past when we paid thru the nose for CB that contributed zippo. Trumain Johnson is still a bad memory with me.
This is the first time I have posted a response from a CB signing but yes it's going to be on the back of a lot of people's minds when this happens. Maybe he wasn't a good fit but maybe there were good fits over the course of the off season. All I was saying is that there is no argument against the fact that we are paper thin at the position and if the CBs struggle it will definitely be a hmmm moment for most I'm sure.
What happened to the Dion Jordan tryout? He’s getting old but should have Josh Gordon levels of tread on the tires.
Funny no action on this front, I think we have 1 spot still open. 2 PS spots as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He looked incredibly stiff there though. I haven't got into the 22' draft class yet, but, that was more on the LT playing that as poorly as possible than It was Thibodeaux making a great play. I haven't watched much of him yet though.
Touche I actually think Seattle will have a down year, but not that down haha. I think that division is hard and they could send up going 9-8 or something like that.
Not that I’d root for it, I like Wilson, but Seattle is always a Wilson injury away from the 1st pick.
