I mean why someone would include Fales. He is obviously bad, but he makes sense to back-up Sam Week 1 instead of Morgan or White. Hopefully White or Morgan showed enough to the coaching staff in camp, that it allows them to cut Fales. We will see today.
He makes no sense to back anybody up week 1 or not, he is crap. Morgan, they spent a 4th on him, so he is not being cut or dropped to the PS. Flacco is still injured and is not going to be ready for week 1 and further (I would put him on pup until week 7 if needs be) White, came in as a camp arm and has impressed and I think he has beaten out Fales imo. The question/conundrum is are we keeping 4 QB's in the 53, the Flacco injury is the riddle, do without him until week 7 then as somebody said we may as well not have bothered with him at all but I guess that White came along after we signed him up. Sam White Morgan Flacco (pup) If White has seen action and played well by the time Flacco can return then I would release Flacco or if White has seen game time and not impressed then I would reactivate Flacco to continue or be the backup. Hopefully, Sam will have an injury free season this time.
What? Not even after you quoted @Jonathan_Vilma in the other thread about the player https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/roster-cuts-and-final-roster-prediction.94231/page-2 This is just a joke btw
I don't see the point in keeping Flacco for only 9 games and having to cut a young player with potential. IMO that would be a waste of a roster spot and cap space. The Jets obviously want Flacco to backup Sam and help with his learning/growth. Flacco will probably be ready by week 2 or 3 at the latest. I'm certain that you are in the minority about rather seeing Morgan sling the ball around. It's OK that you're in the minority, I'm sure that you don't care about that, but after last season, most fans would revolt if the Jets don't have a decent, if not quality backup this season. I think Flacco will do more than just check the ball down. If Morgan had looked good in TC, I would probably agree with you, but at least according to the tweets, he didn't look particularly ready or good. I don't think it would help him or the team to force him onto the field before he's ready. Mike White had an excellent TC. If necessary, I'd rather Mike White get the opportunity to start games in Sam's absence than Morgan. The Jets would at least have some chance of being competitive or maybe even winning a game or two. I think they'd have no chance with Morgan, and it could harm his development/confidence. Yes, some rookies can come in and play well, but they had mini-camps, OTAs, and looked good in their TCs. That's not the case with Morgan, and he almost certainly would look more like Petty than he would Minshew or Mullens.
I've seen projections by sportswriters, and by Jets fans on another site. Most are projecting Fales because he has playing experience and experience in Gase's system. The thing is that Fales sucks. By all the accounts I've see, he had a mediocre TC. Meanwhile, White has been in the NFL 2 years, so he's not a rookie, but he has never played in a game. He had an excellent TC looking better than Fales. So imo, the experience in Gase's system hasn't helped Fales, and White looks like the better choice to me. Gase may opt for Fales just out of comfort because he's a known quantity, but I think that would be a mistake in terms of talent and playing ability.
Well he likes him that much that in 2 games he never threw a damned ball for us and that is a pretty sad indictment for a QB.
Yes, having a good camp as opposed to a shit camp but knowing the star HC is all that we need to take from this sorry episode. ps but the conversation was about the other 4 due to the opening post in the thread, Fales wasn't even mentioned. So there you go, what do we ever actually know. Well, we know Fales is fucking shit but meh.
