Rosen's the most polished passer of the three. Allen's just a big, physical athlete. Darnold has the best feel for the position right now and can move around too.

What do all these names have in common? They were elite 11..top 3 QBs in their recruiting class.

Stidham ranking among the others coming out of HS doesnt make him the same NFL prospect..not even close..

It’s funny how Jets fans are shitting on Rosen and Allen now when up until the day of the draft it was more likely either they or Mayfield was going to be our QB. Mac said he thought Darnold was going to go #1 until a day or so before the draft. So he traded up initially NOT for Darnold.

To be fair, most people who watched Allen leading up to the draft were shitting on him. This isn't something new. I also don't see that many people shitting on Rosen the QB, just Rosen the personality.

I mean more likely than not, Stidham isn't going to be a great pro. He got worse from his sophomore to junior year and that was all while not being asked to do too much. Because he was ranked in high school 3 years ago, we're supposed to be scared of him when history shows high school ratings mean close to squat?

I live in Charlotte now. I’ve seen Cam win a lot of ugly games early on in his career in a similar fashion as Allen. Prior to last year under Norv Cam was a middling 55% +/-career CMP% but he found ways to win.

That's a big if IMO. He looked far better as a runner than as a passer last year.

Cam threw for over 4,000 yards his rookie year at 60% completion. You couldn't have made a worse comparison honestly.

Also up until last year, Cam was completing 59% of his passes.

yea and Buffalo has a ton of Carolina connections on their staff & front office. that's exactly what they are trying to replicate with Josh Allen and Cam Newton is a good comparison to him, I agree

I cannot wait for the day that Jarrett Stidham is QBing the Patriots. Not that I think he has zero chance to be a decent QB but it will mean that Tom Brady is no longer QBing the Patriots and I’ll take that trade off any day of the week.

58.5% to be exact. I didn’t look up his exact stats I just knew he was below the 60% which is usually the benchmark. Hence the +/-. His rookie year was the only time he broke 4000. Hasn’t been close since. Either way my point remains he’s able to grind out wins in a similar fashion w/o being prolific in the air like other great QBs in this era.

I’ve been posting about him for a while so I didn’t want to regurgitate old shit. I forget there are new posters here.

I am not a fan of Allen but I think that is a fair comparison for him having success. He could be a poor man's version of Newton.

He is big, strong, a great runner, tough and he does not need to do a lot to win with Buffalos great defense. Allen could still be a very bad QB but do just enough to win. Defenses gameplan to keep him in the pocket and force him to throw. But again he does not need to throw much to win with their defense. Just make a few big plays with his legs.My question with Allen is his durability. He takes more hard hits than any QB I have ever seen. His legs are his only asset. Once he is no longer a threat to run then he will be in erious trouble.

I don’t evaluate QBs off of production too many variables impact that.

Sam Darnold’s production got worse in college too
