Once Mike white went down it was over. But you could have saved it by putting in Flacco + Strev packages. Zach Wilson had no reason coming on the field after the Pats debacle in-game and post-game. My Bills friends text me all the time, like why is Saleh still playing this guy.

He's a kid among men. Look at him.

Like most of us, I'm willing to give Douglas a mulligan on Wilson because Douglas has otherwise done a good job in dramatically improving the talent on this team. However, this quote from Douglas about Wilson is enough to give me second thoughts. (Quote per The Athletic).

On what made Wilson stand out from the other QBs available in the draft: “We value the traits of decision-making, anticipation, accuracy, the play-making ability, the ability to make plays off schedule.”

Decision-making? Anticipation? Accuracy? Yikes. When will these GMs learn to shit-can the post-draft hyperbole? This stuff can really bite you in the ass a few years later. It's like taking a victory lap before the race even starts.

Does not change the fact players laid down on Thursday. This is what I am saying, only Manning or Brady could come fix this culture. Brees I guess did. A super strong leader is needed. They rally around White, but I am not sure if it is teenage love or him being a leader. They need a a leader among men, someone they respect. I don’t think anything would have changed if MW didn’t get hurt. The real problem is once they decided that everything was Zach’s fault, they got worse, oline, special teams, defense. The team acted as though they were a SB caliber team and QB was 100% of the problem. This is what I don’t agree with. You can blame Zach for all the losses but you have to have eyes wide open on the other issues that have always been there. Defense has not gotten off the field on 3rd down this year. Whether because of penalty or QB running or wide open TEs. That problems still exists and has all season. Mann being a crappy punter has existed all year. Oline being garbage has been the case since AVT went down. Maybe he is the leader in the locker room.

The jets are not going to get a superstar QB. They are looking at average at best. Many think that is good enough, I think it is ok to get beat in first round of playoffs for a couple of years before the wheels fall off, unless the other issues are realized and addressed.

Take a loot at the poll right before the season actually started: https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/2022-season-win-prediction-poll.97754/

67% of people expected less than 7 games. 90% expected 7 or less. Even if we don't win another game I think Saleh has done enough this offseason, where he exceeded expectations, and we don't need to rock the boat. Granted, if we end the season on big losing streak, it's not ideal, but a lot of it is due to extremely poor QB play. I thought personally we would end up with 7, but with much better QBing. To overcome poor QB and still win 7 games or maybe even more warrants another season. Next year though the conversation will be different. No play-offs means clean house.

I really like this idea. I keep hearing Rodgers name being tossed around but I feel he's too old. We need someone that is going to come in and be able to do at least 5 years to take advantage of all the young talent before it becomes cost prohibitive. Use the draft to absolutely stack the o-line and go from there.

This makes zero fucking sense sense to me,you state they will rather lose with Wilson, and on the next breath, watch them, they will bench Wilson the next two games and resurrect him next year. Why, to damage White even more if he is not cleared properly? Or if White is cleared, wouldn't we give this team that fought so hard a chance at respectability with the better option.
How do you think that would resonate with the players, the fans, the media, the leadership? I believe they are hoping and praying that White gets cleared to play, as they should. Pride in draft selection over winning games is BS, and any decent GM takes his lumps and moves on, because when all the chips are in, they will be judged strictly by wins and loses during their tenure, not by how many good drafts they had. They must play the best option available always, for the good of the team and every player within the team that wants to win. Next year is next year, and they have massive work cut out for them as where do we go from here.

Four fucking rushing yards in the first half of play with a suspect QB.
yeh, you are so right. The OC and OL should get a pass.

You're so full of shit. Now you're trying to blame the OC and the OL in concert? In your last response you blamed the OC and made no mention of the OL. THE OL has sucked for weeks now which is all the more reason why calling plays for an extremely limited QB like Zach is such a challenge. Yet you pretend the OC is to blame. Go back to bed....

I think we played a part in ruining Geno and Sam, but Zach just sucks.

Brissett isn't any better than Mike White. Don't let Brissett's TD/INT ratio fool you; he's not particularly accurate, and his Y/A is also low. This year has been some of his best football, but it's still not good enough.

I’m pretty sure Jacoby Brissett is straight ass. But he has an absolute cannon, is good friends with Tom Brady, and unanimously seems like a pretty cool guy that’s liked by his teammates. That’s usually a decent formula to run a NFL offense.

Go read my post again and pay attention this time. You see the part in the original thread that simply says OC and OL. What fucking part do you not understand about OL. But, You think calling a hand full of running plays in the first half with Zach sucking so bad is all on the OL. The OC run blocking scheme has been the pits. You are the one who is massively full of shit. Just keep on beating the drum that Zach is the only problem because he is low hanging fruit right now. But fuck off calling me full of shit when you are not even capable of reading my post accurately. I stand by it. The OC and OL need to take a bunch of blame too. They didn’t help shit.

Either way you're still WRONG. It's very challenging for any OC to call plays for a talent limited QB. The OL situation only exacerbates an already bad problem. What's even worse than that is you claiming somehow the MLF play calling was bad as though you could have done better. Merry Christmas....

Not me, but any savvy OC would have. That's what they do to our good D week in and week out. The figure out a way to mix plays and sustain the run. Hope all changes next year. Merry Christmas.

The worst move the Jets made (and its one I called out at the time of the '21 draft so clearly I should be appointed as the Jets next GM) was not only did they get caught up in the ZW hype and draft him at #2 they also turned down an offer from the Niners of (at least) 3 FIRST ROUND PICKS to trade back (which is what they gave the Phins to move up to #3 to draft trey Lance and so they would've given the Jets at least as much to get to the second pick - so not only does it look like the ZW pick was a miss but it also cost us an extra 2 first rounders - I do feel like if the front office was more established and less worried about getting "their guy" and ditching Sam then they wouldn't have given up this golden opportunity.

    Also - Merry Xmas!
