Romo will go to the Broncos who are an experienced QB away from making a deep playoff run. He doesn't want to come to a mess like the Jets.
AJ won't demand "Osweiler" money..... he'd be a semi cheap replacement for Geno..... someone who can compete.....
AJ isn't that good at all....just another overhyped backup who will be exposed as a long term starter one day Weak arm and not that athletic....no thanks But a "winner" because he came from Bama
If he was more durable I would be for it but he is one hit away from being on IR, or worse. Can't invest that much money in a QB who is such a gamble. Personally, I would have Hack, Petty, and either a draft pick or a free agent QB fight it out. This all depends on how the Jets feel about Hack and Petty though. We will have 40+ million in cap after cuts but will need to fill those spots. Investing a large sum in Romo would be prohibitive.
I do think either romo or cutler is the QB next year. Now yes its a band aid but a necessary one if u want ur fan base show up. I have no idea about the contract status of each but i am fairly confident the jets will protect themselves from injury and not give up too much in either case. I would have like to see petty in there but he just didnt show enough in his limited time, even with the dismal OL performance.
Romo maybe but definitely not Cutler Fans aren't dumb enough to get tricked into Cutler who has a horrible reputation....I think fans would rather see a young unknown over him If the Jets started out poor with Cutler the team would completely sink
Agreed. I am not saying he'll be a stud here, but you can tell we're going to sign a vet to compete with Hack and Petty next year. I do not think he will command a lot of money and I feel he has good talent for the asking price. He knows the Bills so we'd have a bit of an advantage for 2 games next year. Also, I recall reading he has some connections with one of our coaches from when he was in Baltimore?
I'd personally love Romo, if he'd be willing to come here. I think our o-line in not nearly as bad as Petty made them look. Our WRs show promise. I'd think he's one of our only chances to have a winning season next year. Tyrod Taylor is not nearly as good as people think. He was not able to move that offense at all and Buffalo lost faith. There is a reason why they're letting him go.
we traded for mr durability brett favre and he ended up injured and derailing our season, since romo may be the exact opposite of that, we may have something here.
Anybody in the CFL available or in the arena league? On the bright side, we will probably draft defense first round.
Romo will take one look at this O-line and run for the hills. Frankly, I wouldn't want him here; he'd get snapped in half like a wishbone by week 4, assuming he even made it out of the preseason.
I'd take Taylor over Romo. At least he can stay on the field and doesn't turn the ball over too much. Plus he is 9 years younger. Signing taylor and drafting fournette with pick 6, would jump start the offense.
No, let's do what we did in the past, draft a good QB. Hell, it nearly worked when Chad was drafted, until the injury jinx kicked in. It's such a crapshoot though. The only time we had success bringing in a FA QB was Vinny and that was out of desperation. Notice that all good teams do not bring in FA QBs, the only times it worked was at KC (Montana and Smith) and Denver with Peyton. In the playoffs, 11 out of 12 teams drafted their starting QB. That sentence alone should be enough to steer clear of FA QBs.
No Romo! Choke artist who is brittle, and running out of career. He is a puss, with an average arm. If I had to pick between him, Cutler, Fitz, or Geno? Cutler, Geno, Firz, then Tony Ohno!
Romo is NOT coming here and even if he wanted too I wouldn't be interested. The guy needs to go to a team that's a QB away from winning a SB, and that is certainly not the Jets.
