There is no doubt that Karen Rodgers is a great QB...sometimes. The confusion between him and the receiving corp last week was pretty awful and he will occasionally force the ball where it doesn't belong. If he or the receivers make ANY mistakes this week, the Jets will make them pay, something that the Vikings D should have cashed in on at least once last week. The only thing that scares me is his legs. If Ryan Fitzpatrick can light us up on the ground then there is no doubt Rodgers can. Hopefully we can keep him contained and get a good shot or 2 on him. I say he ends up 14 for 31 with 2 INTS and a TD - 209 yards
True, but then Denver threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Jets and STILL came up short......in Denver, one of the toughest places to play in the NFL......at altitude......on a short week....... after a tough Monday Nighter..... No other Jets team - like ever- would have had enough heart to have won that game. This team is a different animal. Old JETS thinking does not apply. GB is banged up. They can't run the ball. They can't stop the run. They are one dimensional, playing one of the most aggressive defensive schemes in the NFL. I'm not foolish enough to think that will make it easy....GB is a good team....but it sure as hell tips the scales WAY over to one side....
Was thinking the same thing. If the Jets DB are crappy then how do we describe the DB for everyone else in the league .... super crappy?
Excuse me??? We have a crappy DB depth? We have a first round draft pick that is riding the bench because our DB depth has stepped it up. With the return of Revis, those same "crappy DBs" now have to cover the #3s and 4s instead of #2s and 3s. We have a dominating secondary. Stats won't show it cuz we have had leads late in the games AND Revis was hurt and whenever he played, it wasn't exactly the same Revis due to his injury. Rogers may very well have the most pass attempts in the game, but that would mean he will be forced in to passing. U don't wanna be passing against Revis and Cromartie.
Good post. One thing. Why is everyone scared of Aaron Rodgers running abilities? He runs about 3-4 times a game on average and gets less than 5 yards a rush. Thats nothing to be scared of. Its not like we are playing Vick. I think we contain him on the ground as well.
Quarless has 7 receptions and 90 yards in 5 games. Jordy Nelson has 17 receptions for 184 yards in 7 games. Donald Lee has 6 receptions for 63 yards in 6 games. Those three guys you mentioned combine for 30 receptions, 337 yards, and 18 games. On average, they catch less than 2 passes a game and have less than 20 yards a game each. They will burn Lowery on every play I guess, cuz they definitely have to have 6 guys blocking ATLEAST. We will send out 6-7 men blitz VERY often with the return of Revis.
If Revis and Cro are both healthy..You are about to see the evolution of the defense. Rodgers will be lucky to finish the game.
Let's not get too carried away. We should be good, yes. Rodgers will probably finish the game and put up respectable stats............in a loss.
