Last time I watched more than one inning was the Saturday game. On Sunday, I watched the 1st inning and then went to the theater to see "The Lincoln Lawyer." I figured that would be more entertaining than the Mets. It was the right decision. It is a pretty good movie and the Mets game was the worst type of baseball game. The starting pitcher pitches great and then some asshole comes out of the bullpen and fucks it up almost instantly. I hate relief pitching more and more as time goes on. I can barely watch games anymore. It's disgusting. Basketball is going to surpass baseball on my favorite sports list if it hasn't already. I cannot take watching a game for two hours where the team I am rooting for has had the lead since the first inning and then the starter gets pulled when he reaches 100, 105 or so pitches because his arm might fall off and then some fuck from the bullpen enters the game and within a few minutes squanders a 2-run lead. This happened pre-1994 strike on occasion. Now it's an epidemic. Do not like Parnell. I want Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran to play very well. Then I want the front office to make good trades involving those players.
looks like the mets are going to have a chance to go for the getting swept in a double header and a 4 game series at home, very tough to pull off.
3 runs in the 8th and 9th, leaving the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th to lose 6-5. I am at work so I didn't see it, but how deep was Wright's fly ball to end it? Was it a HR in any park that didn't have that moronic right field cutout that Citi Field has? Or was it just a fly ball?
Homerun in any other ballpark.........right on the deep part of the warning track. So once again the Mets bats come alive, but Citi Field and our bullpen fuck us again.
i havent seen the play, but the entire length of the outfield wall at Citi is moronic. EDIT: length of the wall meaning the wall in its entirety, from left field to right.
I've always been okay with a pitcher's park versus a hitter's park, but I'm still waiting to hear a rational explanation for these sorts of blatantly unfair "quirks" in the stadium. What genius came up with that? Has anyone ever said that it's a good thing?
Wilpons are such great owners that they design a ballpark that absolutely KILLS the face of their franchise's power. Unbelievable. I've never been ashamed to be a Mets fan. This ownership is pushing me close to that point.
more stadium ridiculousness. that one actually looked like it hit off the facade and then ricocheted down. i'm not sure how you can hit a ball like that and its not a HR
Mets are not a good team. The sad part is the Mets could've easily taken 3 out of 4 here if they played not quite so terrible defense and the Rockies didn't play so well defensively.
Jesus we must have the worst Outfielders in baseball. Pagan ran around like Duda on crack and then Harris stands and watches. I don't see any player busting any kind of gut to make a play , its almost like they have turned it in already. If Parnell is still used as in the bullpen we deserve everything we get , guy is a fucking home run machine......for the opposing team!!!
