Can't understand how Chic and Deep Purple aren't in the Hall of Fame. Nile Rogers & Bernard Edwards are basically responsible for slick late seventies R&B production and that 80's poppy New Wave (Duran Duran) sound. And Purple.... come on?! An argument could be made for the Smiths as well. Every post-80's alternative band has them as a major influence. Just call it the Hall of Lame....
who cares? Those are probably the only people that agreed to show up. nobody gives a shit about any hall of fame that's not that of a major sport.
Lol it's like trying to definitively state who the best guitarist is. I think there are like 15 all tied for first place and then like 50 tied for second place. I found a great YouTube video - not really a video, just the tracks- of Clapton-Allman jam sessions 1-6 and I'm thinking they are the greatest ever. Then I listen to SRV play acoustic Testify on the 12 string, then Jimi play pretty much anything then BB play the blues and Page and then I think back to my Jeff Beck albums and I just saw Santana in concert and holy crap what a solo from Gilmour and Les Paul used to live down the street from me and while Axl Rose sucked Slash didn't. Yeah, too tough to call. _
in music, its what is the most pleasing to your ears and soul. its not like athletics, you simply cant go by performance. You have your favorites, but it doesnt mean they are the best! probably no such thing when it comes to art
