We're really not that far apart with how we see things, but if they are going to roll with Zach, for whatever reason, they need to call plays he can execute. I agree with you it shouldn't come to that, but here we are.
I don’t think there’s a game plan suited to Wilson. Maybe if we play a spread offense? I don’t know what offense we’re supposed to be running right now. I thought it was supposed to be run heavy, but when you have a Qb that can’t throw or see the field….well….the opposing defense doesn’t really have to guess too much do they?
I'm telling you. Woody told JD and Saleh that their jobs are safe. Play the kid. It's the only explanation. Saleh sucks but he's not dumb. If his job was on the line, he would bench Zach. Save with JD. I actually like him more than some, but if his ass was on the line, he would bring in someone else. I think it's obvious at this point that ownership stepped in and made the call
I’m kind of there too…there has to be SOME reason why JD hasn’t brought in an experienced backup and why Saleh hasn’t benched the worst rated passer in the league after seeing the same shit for three games than we’ve seen the past two years. Like, they can’t be THAT stupid There is something else going on here…whether it’s Woody saying play the kid, whether its a full on tank job 3 games in…I don’t know what it is, but if both JD and Saleh REALLY think Zach is the best option for this season then they need to go And that’s coming from a JD supporter…
I think he would stand a better chance of getting another job if he resigned and said that they are telling me I have to play this kid who can’t play. Anybody with balls wouldn’t get pushed into playing this turd.
Saleh can only utilize the personnel he is given- obviously as they've said throughout their tenure together- they are in lockstep with every decision- so a piece of what you're saying is accurate. However, this isn't the old reporting structure from 2015-2021 when both HC/GM reported to Woody. Saleh reports to JD who reports to Woody. JD can bring whoever he wants in without Salehs intervention
How are they supposed to keep playing him? The team is going to have an absolute mutiny like last year. I give it until the Bye week.
The bye week? If we get owned on Sunday night the poop is going to hit the spinning blades in Jetland. And that could be a big mess because we got a lot of poop.
if it was that easy, there would be no bad QBs in the league. the fact is, some dudes just dont have it. wilson cant execute plays cause he's scared and too busy staring at the rush. the team can practice until theyre blue in the face, but once the bullets are live, wilson shits the bed. theres nothing the coaches can do about that. that is why you dont draft dudes who have no experience working in nfl style pockets. wilson is legit one of the worst quarterbacks of all time.
Of course JD can bring in whoever he wants, as long as Woody agrees. Make no mistake Woody is still totally involved. They have managed to lose most of the fanbase with their continued inaction. How long before the players start to constantly complain?
It has to be a full on tank job. Salehs is not getting fired because I don't think Rodgers wants to return to a rebuild or whatever. I'd love to see Rex get that HC spot any day over Saleh but I think Saleh and JD have complete security over their jobs so they are going to keep putting Wilson out there.
If? Sunday night is going to be like 35-3, and I only give us 3 cause I am counting on the D giving us a short field once.
If they believe him, they're morons. Never risk your reputation in exchange for a job security promise that isn't binding.
He was asked.. "Are you worried about how volatile the atmosphere might be at MetLife If things don't improve for your offense?" RS - "Can't control that one." Then he was asked after this long winded rant about Zach Wilson looking so good through the week, that they see a different side of him, blah, blah... "Robert, that being said, don't the results have to show up on Sunday? It doesn't really matter what you see on Wednesday and Thursdays.." RS - "We..we...we..we do all this stuff so we can be our best and win games on Sunday. Period. We did a great job, we fought our tails off. Defense was fantastic In the second-half. Well, we made the one critical error that resulted In that TD, but, uhhh. Offensively we just kept plugging. Found a way to break through, we just couldn't break through a second time. Credit to NE, man. They have a top 5 defense. They do a great job over there. Uhhh.. but the most important thing about today Is to come In and figure out how we can get better. Figure out the direction we need to go offensively. It's not about panicking and making whole-sale changes. It's about making sure that we are doing everything deliberately to find an identity for this group. As It's situated now, so we can get the W's that we are looking for on Sunday." Whhhhaaaattttt??? This dude tries to talk his way out of everything by rambling a bunch of bullshit that really doesn't make fucking sense at this point. I'm over It. What a joke. This Is about to get real ugly. ffs
"You just don't throw people away, man," This is the most concerning line from Saleh, and to me shows he doesn't have what it takes to make an easy decision that's hard to follow through with. Not to get into personal stuff, but my previous position I had a Sr leader who was awesome... but way too nice. He always tried to protect people who didn't deserve protection, and I think it will contribute to the inevitable liquidation of his team as it's fallen behind the way the rest of the tech side operates. This is all because he made a terrible hire as principal, one which caused me to leave and I expressed as much. And when I talked to him about it you could tell he tried to walk a line that would protect the person who deserved no such protection, the company and his team. Unfortunately all suffered except for the bad employee who makes too much money and is totally useless until he's rooted out another way. Everyone loses but one person who doesn't deserve it with this. It's a nice story, but professionally doomed to destroy everyone
No sense in blaming the puppet; his hands can only do what those pulling the strings allow him to do. Saleh did look like he had a couple of meltdowns, probably due to the fact he is not too comfortable about having to cover up and keep taking blows for his deceitful puppetmasters.
