The point is a couple of people posted the Jets didn't get the ball in the third quarter. They did. And they sucked. And didn't get it back with about five minutes left in the quarter.
He was bad. Worse that Wilson has ever looked. Someone called out on the board that we should have signed him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bridgewater. Doesn't. Matter. Why do you constantly want to compare Wilson to guys who can't do their jobs?
Cause posters on here always look at Wilson with a fine tooth comb (I.e. throw was too hard, it was a foot the the right or left, etc), and he is just not as bad as stated. He is rookie. And at times not good. There have been some good things. But there are certainly worse performances from even vets around the league. Just I don’t think all the bashing is warranted…. Just yet. Even Mahomes was worse than Wilson today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You do understand that no matter what anyone else does as QB, Wilson gets graded, rated and reviewed on what he does - nobody else, right? You do understand that this forum is all about the Jets, right? The NFL is not scored on a curve. Kansas City won; the Jets lost. Mahomes has absolutely nothing to do with how well or poorly Wilson does his job.
Bridgewater's thrown for 16 TDs and 7 INTs this season with a passer rating of 95.0. In last night's game, he threw 1 TD and 2 INTs with a passer rating of 62.2, which was his worst game of the season. That's barely any worse than one of Zach's average starts; Zach's got 6 TDs, 11 INTs, and a passer rating of 66.2.
The one in the 4th where Moore went full stretch diving to his left and didn't quite reach it? Yeah thats on the receiver, we need to sign guys with much longer arms.FFS. I keep reading Wilson had a much better game but his bar is set so low lol. He is inaccurate downfield and the same if not worse on short stuff, it's not rocket science he just cant do it.
The good - 1). ZW was indeed better today. 2) First three possessions he moved the chains, nothing spectacular but solid, simple and effective and again all we need him to do. 3) ZW does look more comfortable 4) Improvements? Yes some areas of improvements. The bad - 1) ZW continues to have several bad throws, and another interception. 2) ZW and Jets offense poorly executed the next 4 possessions (minus one play kneeled at halftime) - 3 and out 1:13 seconds (Philly FG after that) - 1 play kneel (Halftime)(won’t count) - 3 and out under 1:30 seconds aagain (Philly FG) - 6 plays under 3 mins interception - Downs In between the last Philly TD to take the lead and after the Jets third possession, ZW and Offense faltered to keep their defense off the field and didn’t score. A TD in one of the 4 possessions above was just a 1 possession game which could have turned the momentum. Not all on ZW but he didn’t help. Defense sucks and did poorly but in between the Jets poorly executed offense, held to 4 FGs. Again, if we could have sandwich a TD in one of those possessions. It was a brand new game.
Not sure why people keep doing this. He has a MVP award and a Super Bowl ring. He gets the benefit of the doubt. Not to mention the sports media world recognizes that he’s not playing well and something’s wrong with his play.
Whoever was QBing yesterday it wouldn’t have mattered, the Jets woulda lost. The Eagles were scoring at will
well I agree Philly was scoring in their first 7 possessions but last 4 “only”resulted FGs which remarkably did NOT put away the game. So a team that makes a comeback has to first make it happen by responding to score. Not to say we would have won the game but the offense didn’t give a chance to make it happen. If we had score a TD in one of those possessions in the 2nd half, it would have been a interesting game and a chance to tie or win. See Ravens/49ers/Lions game. Not sure I agree with you there. If the Eagles score a TD and put the game out of the reach I would agree with you.
Percentage without context is dumb. Add 2 drops (conservatively) and a spike to the comp % and you’re at 68% . No one would complain about that
In the context of that game, I'm "fine" with 60.5%. Our WR's dropped at least 5-6 passes that hit them square in the hands. If those are catches, his % goes way up. But as the old saying goes, If "ifs and buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas, right? I thought Zach played well enough for us to win the game yesterday and was not even close to the top of the list for why we lost this game. His ball placement wasn't perfect but it was good enough. The ball hits you in the hands, you catch it. Especially when you're paid millions to do so. So I ask everyone on this board, is that not the progress we've all been clamoring for? Is a 3/1 TD/INT ratio not progress?
I think the bold is a gross exaggeration especially when you consider his ball placement has been pretty poor. Regardless, he was fine yesterday. That’s the type of games you can walk away with as a rookie and be satisfied with. 3 total touchdowns, 1 pick, no terrible plays. He does look like he’s trying to throw everything through a brick wall now after a lot of his balls were getting undercut or he was dirt balling them. But he played a good solid game. His best as a pro. Better than the Titans game which is a bit inflated because of two great throws.
I don’t disagree a ton, but that stuff is generally baked in with all QBs. Again though - he played a pretty damn good game. Not sure what the critics are upset about.
For once Zach isn't at the top of my list of concerns for a week. It's just hard to appreciate when the defense is constantly getting carved up by some kind of shitty teams. Hardly ever a moment to appreciate anything with this team.
