As an "out of market" guy and fan of a horrible team that never makes it on national tv, and rightfully so, I've only seen two games this year, Denver and last week's game agains Philly. So I haven't had the chance to see much of Wilson actually playing but have heard/read a ton of course...I totally get that he's a rookie and w/ the right coaching and experience I'm hopeful he's the Jets' answer to their QB problem, but until that happens it's still a question mark. After seeing last week's game and hearing/reading a lot about it being Wilson's best overall game to date, I'm honestly a little concerned. Zero doubt, it's probably because I'm a beaten down fan and have seen this Jets script before...and Wilson is probably paying for my beaten-down-ness (yes that's a word) despite it having nothing to do with him...But man, I'm concerned with him not being able to hit open players in space with precision. It seemed like most of his throws were to open receivers (open in NFL terms) and yet those receivers had to contort their body or really extend to catch his passes...rarely did it seem that he hit someone w/ the precision of an starting NFL QB where the receiver caught it in stride or it looked smooth. If he was a pitcher I'd have labeled him "wild in the strike zone". I'm hoping that's nerves as that's something I'm optimistic can be fixed...but it happened enough that it really caught my attention and again, I'm hopeful with Wilson but concerned none the less...

Watch the breakdown of the tape that has been posted on here. It should alleviate your concerns

New reality will force Wilson to look in different areas for open Wr's. This should help him develop even further as he was starting to lock in too often on Wr's

He was fine with looking to different targets last week. I don’t think that’s going to be as much of a concern going forward.

This is looking like a horrible pick. Worse than Darnold and that's saying a lot. He's way over his head. 10-26 or whatever for under 100 yards. I don't see anything here that's promising. Even on that 18 yard run, he could've got 5 more yards.

At this point it looks like he has the yips. You don't become a top 5 prospect and can't compete the easiest of passes pretty much every time.

If he flames out, we probably wont hear about it for years but it's definitely something to listen for.

How bad does he look to you guys compared to say Luke Falk or Christian Hackenberg?

He doesn't look Hackenberg bad but he is obviously getting the jitters in the pocket. Its also looking more and more like he cant see the field good enough cause he's too small. Also an accuracy problem as even most of his completions are off target.

No he's regressing, or becoming a head case, or he's already been ruined.

Hackenberg never got a chance to play because Bowles and Macc knew that his level of play was unacceptable on an NFL field on game day.

I really think the right comparison is Richard Todd. The team has a lot invested in him and yet he has looked mostly bad in the opportunities that he has been given. Probably 95% of the time that is because the QB is actually bad.

Or maybe he had a great season against a weak schedule and everybody thought that was him when in fact it was his pinnacle?

So seriously, how’s he looking to you compared to our recent flameouts? I’m not knowledgeable to really get into it but I’ve seen Sanchez and Darnold in the recent past and he makes them look like Johnny Unitas.

I would imagine the latter would be looking a lot like this if he was thrown onto the pitch when he was here.

That is how bad Wilson is throwing 90% of the time, you do see a glimpse of a player in there and well, look, that is what we just spent 3 years doing with Sam.

Sign a Vet and let the kid regroup and hope that he learns.

I thought he turned a corner against Philly. Damn I was wrong. This may have been his worse game of the season.

Zach did look poised as he was sucking today, I have to say that. He threw the most confident short pass right into the dirt at Ryan Griffin's feet.
