So what's left on O? A TE coach and a few assistants?

I think we were going to have Gus Bradley as out DC until he went to Vegas.

Love that we do interviews and that this is on work and not mates. Otherwise wink or Doug P would be here.

You might be right, but didn’t Gus go to the Raiders before we selected our HC?

Obviously there is a lot still left to do and time will tell, but are people still doubting Joe Douglas?

Talk about a MASSIVE overhaul of this franchise. It is truly mind blowing looking at our coaching staff just a month ago compared to now.

I also hate to do it and it took too long to realize it, but give credit where credit is due. Ownership finally did something right in hiring Douglas and stepping back while he assembled his staff. Kudos for that

Obviously can't speak to him as a coach but Miles Austin was always a good detailed route runner from what I remember. The rookie coaching staff still remains a worry for me to an extent but man it seems like we're going to have a bunch of young energetic dudes on the sideline.

It will definitely be more fun to watch than the Gase graveyard of sagging heads that we watched the past two years.

I know this wasn't serious, but that is my only little doubt so far based on what we've heard. Not the red flag, but that there isn't any wiser, experienced old head on the sidelines. I'm good with youth and all the energy that brings but I'd like to see someone who's been there and done that around and knows the pitfalls just to temper the enthusiasm a little.

Someone like Raheem Morris would have probably been ideal for this. He was in the running to be Saleh's DC pick.

Cool thought. Sam and his new coaches kicking back, sharing stories over a few cold ones. It's sad that no coach can contact any player until mini camps. This would be the perfect time for both sides to feel each other out, face to face.

New HC, new OC. Neither have ever done this before. They need someone to speak to that has IMO. An experienced DC would work, or even a position coach/Asst HC, just to show them the ropes and at least give them a chance of avoiding major pitfalls.

THAT part i get, reducing enthusiasm and injecting wisdom is not the same thing.

What do you call both Greg Knapp (57) and John Benton (55)?

Any time you can bring the leader of one of the worst defenses in the league on board, you just have to.

Loved the hires up until this was mentioned.

I find it surprising (but pleasantly so) that he has named the offensive staff first rather than the defensive staff. Hopefully, this is a signal that he will want to fix the offense first in FA and the draft this year.

Salah said it's important to surround yourself with coaches that are good at what you aren't good at. He's a defensive guy so it makes sense for him to worry about getting the offensive guys 1st

    100% this.

Glad that he thinks this way.
