If fans are outraged by Batman casting it generally turn out pretty good. He’s certainly a good choice if you are aiming for a brooding Bruce Wayne.
If Matt Reeves can make incredible Planet of the Apes films I just don’t see him missing the mark with Batman.
Yep! When I first saw he would be directing a Batman movie I got excited, but he is already exceeding my expectations with this new trailer. Can't wait to see how The Batman unfolds. Only 5 months away!
Getting close! Lots of new promo stuff coming out lately. Love the new theme for the film. Really well done. I think we have a good one on our hands! Just over a month away! Crazy I made this thread in May 2019. A lot has happened since but looks like we are finally getting to see the film soon.
Matt Reeves is such a good director he’d have had to deliberately tried to make a bad movie for it not to be any good based on what I’ve seen so far.
Let’s see if DC and Warner Brothers have the discipline to stay with the theme of keeping these movies dark and the humor to a minimum. Every time they’ve done it, it comes out great (most recent trilogy, Joker, Wonder Women). And every time they’ve tried to make it a Marvel movie, it failed.
Yeah! Very happy they went in this direction instead of a Ben Affleck directing/acting film. Matt Reeves films are so detailed too. So many possibilities when you hand him Gotham City to work with. Hopefully they learned their lesson, but we will see. The Batman definitely will be what you described but I am not sure about The Flash. Hope it is good too. Then I think we will get Aquaman 2, Black Adam, and Wonder Woman 3. I am glad The Batman is in it's own universe and not a part of any of that.
I don’t like this site much anymore but 10/10 and calling it the best Batman film to date; https://www.joblo.com/the-batman-review/
I saw THE BATMAN last night and it was really well done. Definitely experience it in a theater if you can. Matt Reeves did a masterful job directing, which I knew he would. It feels more like art than a comic book film or an MCU film. Robert Pattinson did a great job as Batman. The supporting cast is great too. It's a really dark film, so it won't be for everybody. It actually feels like a 70's mob movie half the time too. I won't say much more than that, as it is better going in not knowing much, so you can just enjoy the ride. Speaking of ride, The batmobile scene from the trailers looks amazing in the film. As a big Batman fan and The Dark Knight trilogy fan, it is hard to rank THE BATMAN just yet, but I really enjoyed it. It stands with those films though, which is impressive.
Saw it again tonight. Amazing! Definitely enjoyed the details of the film more on second viewing. Go see it!
