I've already stated on here that I thought the Pats should have just let it go with the tampering thing. It seemed trivial to me at the time and a kind of petty.

But the Jets filing comes off as just plain sour grapes. I don't know how anyone can say the Pats were tampering with a player who signed for 5 years with another team. For saying we wanted to keep him but couldn't? LOL

I'm leaning toward gm wasn't on board

Better off anyway. We'd of won maybe 2 more games and had a lower pick

Woody Johnson called Kraft to apologize for the statement he made, as soon as it was recognized as "tampering". Kraft, being the classless man, that he is known to be, STILL filed tampering charges. So yes this is "sour grapes", but Kraft had it coming his way. BTW , this is tampering according to the NFL's definition.

It's not classless it's business. Sorry.

I know we're all sensitive to pats bullshit but when we bitch about things they do that are valid and within the rules it makes us look like we have sour grapes, not Kraft.

Woody made a tampering type move and Kraft put it on record. The pats did zero wrong.

And Woody Johnson has done the same, and his action was also valid. It' silly for Patriot fans to call this foul play, when their owner made similar comments to Woody.

As a serious pat hater everything they do is border line cheating. That's the way I am and they way I feel.
If some U guys feel it's important to state the truth about it ok. But I don't like they walk, talk, eat. sleep.
To me they are nothing but slime and ruin the very ethics of sportsmanship.
Screw them, their fans, and every thing related to that slime organization.

I don't think it is. The definition is "interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club
to impermissibly induce a person to seek employment with that club" Woody's clearly is since he talked about wanting to sign Revis when the Patriots had exclusive negotiating rights with him. Kraft's is less clear as it is a past tense referring to trying to sign Revis and failing.

Keep reaching , when Woody made his comment it was during the season in direct answer to a question. No team was negotiating a contract.

I mean the fact that massholes are still coming here proves the point it is sour grapes. Where the f are the mods it is not a difference of opinion here it down to I disagree ....I am right you are wrong.

Kraft's statement is no worse or better then Woody's. If there was any tampering it was done thru metha's column and that can't be proven without a doubt. There is more evidence for deflate gate then for tampering charges.

I am glad the Jets did not back down and filed charges back at the cheaters . i personally hope it pisses off every fing inbred cheater troll here.

It was more "tit for tat" than sour grapes. Like you said, the Patriots should've let what Woody said slide. Since they didn't, the Jets are hitting back to make the Patriots realize that the Jets can also play that (petty) game. I'm glad the Jets filed charges when they got the chance.

Using "sour grapes" wrong is one of my pet peeves. It's kind of like meatheads who say "for all intensive purposes."

Read the fable and educate yourself.

As for the Jets filing tampering charges, it is in fact a pretty smart move. Both charges are absurd, but if there is a chance that the league takes a pick from the Jets, why not retaliate? Maybe their charge muddys the waters enough to save them a 6th or 7th rounder.

I don't know why Kraft signed Revis to a 2 year deal when he never had any intention of giving him 20 mil for the 2nd year. I'm sure there was a reason but there was never a chance they were going to pay him that. Kraft got a bargain rate for 1 year and it helped parlay them into the Super Bowl. And then Revis stuck it to Woody when he got his guaranteed 39. How does Woody feel about that? Well he paid Revis but still has not personally met with him. I think that says a lot.

I doubt it means anything other than they haven't been in the same place at the same time since he signed.

I think it says a lot. First it's a major player and signing in Jets history. With a lot of complications and some bad blood between both parties. He should have met Revis in person although probably you would think there will be a presser.

Revis' camp innsisted on the huge option year 2 to keep the pats from tagging him and essentially guaranteeing revis would be a f.a. this year.

And also so Revis contract would "average" $16mil per year as it did the year before.

There is also a reason Revis bogus 4th and 5th years are $11 mil. It makes his "average" salary higher than Sherman's so he is the top pad CBin te league. Revis wants the $$$'s for sure. But he also wants the top billing that coms with it. And he is th best so good for him.
