I think this is a really well thought out hypothesis and makes a lot of SENSE. Actually maybe RG3 was the targeted QB all along ... for several months.

I would be lying if I said I actually saw a lot of RG3, other than a couple games. His stats weren't bad at all his 1st and 2nd year ... he threw a completion pct 65% and then 68% his 3rd year. Throwing to who?.... Fred Davis? An older than dirt Santana Moss? An overrated Garcon? Those pct numbers hint at solid accuracy and good reads.

I would muchhh rather have RG3 on a low risk prove it deal if the money would be same for Fitz. I LOVE Fitz and am so appreciative the way he played his heart out last year but previous posts are on the money ... how many times did he just throw up prayers to Marshall ... Decker had at least a dozen SPECTACULAR grabs. Powell taking dump offs and adding shake and bake yardage. Enunwa's amazing big time catch in Dallas game that was poorly thrown .... in other words it was very rare where I saw Fitz make a throw and say wow that was some stick ....

On the other hand the little I saw of RG3 it jumped out to me what a beautiful deep pass he threw. It was frustrating to watch Fitz have do chance on passes thrown 25-30 yards plus down field all season.

If MM's master plan was to bring in RG3 the whole time. .. and Forte. And it works, wow what a genius.

Wish I could look inside in Macc's mind and see what's going around. But this will probably drag on for the next few days. Gotta admit though, he's matching Fitz's agent move for move.

Good stuff; there's a lot for Gailey to work with.

Add Tebow to the mix as well. What could possibly go wrong?

Honestly, I would not mind RG3 one bit. In fact, I'd prefer him over Fitz to be honest.

If RG3 checks out health wise, I think he's going to rebound big time.

That's the hope. I hope we get a look at him. If we get him on the cheap and have Fitz back I'd be really excited.

If that did happen (which I doubt, unfortunately), then Geno is probably a goner, right?

Fitz, RG3, Petty would be pretty sweet.

That'd be nice. Mac cleaning it up in one fell swoop. :)

The one downside is how Petty would respond to bringing in RG3. He jumped ahead of Petty at Baylor and the same thing would be happening on the Jets. Like deja vu for Petty.

RG3 was a starter at Baylor long before Petty arrived. There would be no deja vu.

If he don't like it tell him to hit the field and get better to beat him out

I think this is Fitz leverage to let him know we'll go in another direction if we have to.

I agree. ... I just can't see this happening. Signing RG3 would be just about the "un-Jetsiest" move ever! Would practically put a stake in the heart of SOJ! ;)
...nope, I just can't picture this...would sure be intriguing if it did happen though! (not saying he would be better than Fitz but the upside is undeniable, given a fresh start. A real riverboat gambler move if Big Mac pulls the trigger!)
