Along with Fitz being top 3 in most dropped interceptions, good thing he was facing bottom tier defenses.

But the fact are that Fitz had a few good years since all under one OC. I have never said Geno was the answer but let see what he can do with this talent the Jets have on offense. If he doesn't work out move on.

Those stats are cherry picked. I can pull out more cherry picked stats that make Fitz seem like the second coming of Namath. Also, the comparison to 2014 is misleading as passer rating (and its component stats) loved Fitz in 2014, they had him 9th in the league.

One of the reasons Fitzpatrick had a good year was because of his sack avoidance and he was really good in the red zone. The red zone stuff could be because of the targets, I don't want to take total credit away from him but it's something that can be replicated with the weapons we have. The o-line, however, needs to be fixed and the next guy could expose that.

His CMP% are not skewed by his 2012 season; he has maintained a 60% CMP every year. Also the arm strength or speed, for the most part, should still be there.

Fitz's 2013 and 2014 seasons were with Tennessee and Houston, i.e. not with Gailey. While I agree Fitz is not worth a cap crippling contract, I would try to re-sign him for similar to what the Jets are offering. Remember, if Gailey thought he could make Geno into the answer, the Jets would not have made the offer they did to Fitz.

Just wait until next year if he gets re-signed, I would be surprised
Are you not cherry picking stats to try to make Fitzpatrick look good right now?

No, I'm using DYAR, the most comprehensive objective stat out there. If I wanted to cherry pick, I could say that the Jets were number 1 in red zone efficiency (highest touchdown percentage and only 1 red zone int). I could talk about how he was tops in the league in not getting sacked despite a crappy line. I could say he led the league in rushing efficiency for a QB. Heck, I could say that his DYAR was better than Aaron Rodgers. And that was just off the top of my head.

I think they had to make some offer. I still think Fitz going to end up in Denver.

Maybe, if Denver can't land Kaep. We'll see. On a separate note I will change my avatar if Fitz leaves. :)

I think when it's all said and done, I think someone will have to compromise and I think it will be Fitzpatrick. He has zero to no leverage. The Jets can look at many quarterbacks and leave Fitz twisting in the wind.
He can sign with someone else and I think the Jets would be fine with that. Mac and especially Woody will not be coming off their price if they don't have to.

    Those numbers are interesting...

Fitz played well for us last year and did improve the lockeroom chemistry but he's worth a certain number to us and I imagine it tops out at 9 mil per over 2.

Those numbers seem alarming, except that this Jets team is a defensive team with a defensive Head Coach. Ryan "Fitz" well in the offense and on the team. Literally a match made in football heaven. In my opinion, he only has real value as a Jet. No Jets fan or Jets staff member thinks he is a Top QB. He is a good QB for the Jets though. I don't get why he is so stubborn.

He's stubborn because he is intelligent. He is 33 and had a career year and is a UFA. The jets also have their best WR in a long time pounding his chest to get it done. This is his last chance for a big payday.

Those stats are scary man...We had a perfect schedule and situation for Fitz and he didn't get it done when it mattered. No doubt he had a solid season but it's the best he's ever going to give us and it's not good enough

He's not a Super Bowl or Franchise QB so what's the point in paying him anything more than backup money? Rather let Petty Geno and RG3 battle it out on the cheap and whoever wins the battle will have to prove themselves.

Don't see a huge downside to losing a journeyman QB...if Brandon Marshall doesn't like it too damn bad

I don't know how serious The Jets are on "Glassman" (RGIII), but it might be interesting to see what he can do in our offense. I'd love to have Fitzbeard back and just continue to groom Petty. He has VERY little leverage at this point. I think a deal gets done tho, I'm just hoping team sticks to their guns and don't cave in.

I think made up stats are bogus. What the heck even is Defensive Yards Above Replacement? The title is even stupid.

Those are some damning stats! I think the Jets should sign RGIII and forget about Fitz.
