I'm definitely backing giving Anderson his shot and I think he he going to turn out to be a solid if not better than solid player but Anderson is 6'3", 190 Lbs. Making a comparison to a 5' 10", 186 Lb player or a 5' 6" 190 Lb player is just not a valid comparison. That being said, if he produces at his current weight then don't see a need for him to change.
Strength is more important than pure weight or height. Sproles and Brown are strong individuals and that combined with their speed help them overcome their measurables. Anderson does look a bit light I'm the pants, the question is whether he can consistently beat jams and the LOS and out-muscle defenders for the ball against tight coverage. How much he weighs is a bit irrelevant in that regard. I'm 210 lbs but I'm weak as hell compared to the average NFL player of comparable weight.. Anderson looks like a very savvy route runner and knows how to position his body to create catch opportunities, let's just see how he develops.
So you think a guy who's 5' 10" 186 is bigger than a guy who's 6' 3" 190? Please enlighten me with your common sense.
Lets look at this differently. Anderson is a fast 75"/190 and Devon Smith is a fast 73"/198. Who looks more solid and able to withstand a hard hit? If anyone needs to go to 5 guys and stay there for a month eating double cheeseburgers and large fries, it isn't Anderson.
If Deshaun Jackson can make a place for himself in this league at what, 5'11 170, then Robby definitely can.
You got me, 190 lbs is more than 186 lbs. Nothing else matters. Manute Bol was 220 lbs., guess he would hold up great in the NFL
Manute bill was not an nfl player, the same way an average Joe off the street who weighs 250 with a beer gut could not play in the nfl. But Robby Anderson and Antonio Brown are both nfl players who went through the football ranks to make it here. I don't even know your point anymore. I originally said that Robby Anderson was not "a very little man" like someone said. He's a receiver who is 6' 3" and 190. I compared him to the best receiver in the league who is 5' 10" and 186. If you can't understand the point I was making then that's on you.
You replied to a post where someone said Anderson needed to eat a sandwich, that he was a little man. You then compared him to Brown as if there is not a big difference in build between a 6'3" 190 lb player and a 5'10" 186 lb player. If your point was 190 is more than 186, congrats you were spot on. My last post on the subject, have the last word.
He looks like he could be a player and I stand somewhat corrected on the weight matter. He definitely looks like he could stand to put on some pounds or he's going to get rag dolled. Even as an NFL receiver, strength is important in 50/50 balls especially as it seems as though NFL corners keep getting bigger and stronger. One of the few bright spots moving forward though. I'd imagine we'll keep one of Decker/Marshall. I'd still like to see more of Peake. He seemed to be the more polished player. With the plethora of holes we have all over this team, we can live with those squad of receivers for now.
I really like Anderson and peake seems like he could be good to. but for some reason I think Jalin Marshall would be really good out of the slot in the future. just cause he sucks ass on PR dosent mean he can't be a good WR. And I feel like they need to move enwua to TE he may not be really tall but I think he makes up for it with his strength Or I could be wrong cause I'm a filthy deplorable
He will get stronger because that's what happens when you get into the NFL...he doesn't need much. It's weird I think he's a bit slight of build only because a few times he went up to grab a ball, fell violently to the ground and began clutching his side due to injury, so I immediately thought man he needs to gain some more body. But he's good though.
If there is one positive on the Jets, then it is the young WRs. With more appearances and experiences in the remaining 6 games, they could be vital for next year. I am looking forward to see how they develop in the next 6 games. They can learn a lot from Decker and Marshall. Develop their work ethics and perhaps we could get a couple of solid corps of WRs.
