I'd give it a pretty good chance actually. He doesn't play special teams and he's still raw as a receiver.
This was my reasoning. He's actually behind Marshall on the depth chart. Unless Enunwa isnt't ready to go tomorrow, he could be a scratch.
And honestly, that's fine. I am a big Anderson fan just as much as everyone else here (well almost everyone else here) but he needs time to develop.
I would be surprised if Anderson is inactive as he is the only speed guy on the roster. Enunwa and Peake have the next fastest 40 time at 4.45 but there is a big difference between 4.45 and 4.34. I would hope to see a few attempts deep to keep the safety back and give Forte, Powell, Marshall & Decker room to operate.
Good point. I think Peake is a possibility also, and it would not surprise me if Anderson and JMarsh are ahead of him in the O plans for the time being
Pre season seems to be a place to shake out the mistakes (busts) more than to find that next Vicor Cruze. Teams cut about half the players they start out with. New kids with bad attitudes? Cut. Late for meetings? Cut. Not getting it in practice? Cut. Dropped passes? Cut. Missed FGs? Cut. Missed assignments? Cut. That's why after every practice Bowles says he has to watch the tape. Teams probably spend 10 times more time figuring out which 50 guys they're gonna cut than who's gonna be the next Victor Cruze. Now it's nice when a new kid stands out, but during the 4 PS games we should spend as much time watching for the guys who mess up so we can kiss them goodbye. Like many have said, doing great in PS may mean nothing, but doing poorly in PS means you're bagging groceries. Anyway, here's to Anderson becoming the real deal!!!!
It really wouldn't make sense to have him inactive for tomorrow's game. If Marshall, whose hip is still slightly balky at the moment, aggravates it further or otherwise gets hurt, Robby would be his natural replacement. Otherwise, in numerous possible multiple wide receiver sets, he's already an extremely viable and valuable weapon right now. I believe he'll see the field quite a bit, if not only as a decoy to stretch the D and keep the defensive backfield honest with his blazing speed on deeper downfield routes but he should also likely be targeted at least 2 or 3 times and quite possibly more. With all the coverage attention Marshall virtually always draws with a safety typically rotating to his side up top, it would strike me as idiotic not to have Anderson trying to wreak havoc on the field by virtue of the obvious punishing match-up nightmares he could create.
Did he get any snaps? I don't think I saw him on the field at all. disappointing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What gives? He was not out there for anything! We had our top 2 guys quiet for most of the day while this buzzsaw was riding the pine?
Fitz probably couldn't get him the ball just like Devin Smith. Did he get any snaps? Enunwa was great the entire game.
He really was...Who needs TE's when you have Quincy! But still I'd rather see Robby out there instead of Jalin Marshall on offense
I thought they'd bring him out on the last drive. Send him flying down the field and see what happens.
Would be nice to see Robby out there on some snaps, I agree. Jalin was a bright spot too though, he should've had a TD grab that game, and was excellent returning kicks. That guy can break tackles, I hope he continues to improve as a receiver. Jets have a lot of young talent really showing they belong. Leonard Williams, Maudlin, Jalin, Lee, and Enunwa played really well. Just wish we won the game =/
Considering Brandon Marshall doesnt look healthy, and that the Bills have a suspect secondary, why not let this kid play this Thursday? It would give Marshall a full 2 weeks to recover.
I'm wondering why he is not playing? Marshall seems to be declining. I wonder if he is too fast for Fitz....like Smith was. Fitz has a pretty accurate deep ball but he never leads the receiver. If he did those passes would be 6. Anderson has burners...use that kid!
