Did he get arrested twice in less than a year or not? https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.northjersey.com/amp/1048743001 You're right. We should definitely ignore such things.
Receivers making "$14 mil per year" under their current contract: Allen Robinson - $11.5 mil first year cap hit Stefon Diggs - $12.5 mil first year cap hit Devante Adams - $10.5 mil first year cap hit And I'm stopping at $14 mil because if we're paying him more than that, I don't want him at all so my point wouldn't matter. I barely even want him at $14 mil but I get why you'd have to pay that to keep him. But basically, judging by the literal signed contracts, a guy making $14 mil a year will have a much lower cap hit than a guy who is tagged. The difference is that of a starting player at another position.
Right but you're making no long term commitment. So you're just looking at it from the perspective of one year if you franchise him. It hurts us in this free agency but we're not committed to Anderson. Those teams were committed to Diggs and Adams for four years before they were uncuttable without a ridiculous dead cap hit, which drives GM's crazy. Robinson is a special case. He was discounted because of his injury right before his FA period. I'm sure the Bears wish they signed him longer because at 26 I would imagine he will sprint away from that program if they retain Trubisky as the starter. In short, I'd rather pay him $18 million for one year this year and let him walk if he spots out another 700-800 yard year than commit to him for 3 years and 'save' $7 million on a first year cap hit.
Really, you are an intelligent man, do we have to go through with the reasoning and explanations for the millionth time? He allegedly pushed a cop who seems to have form for bothering gentlemen of the black persuasion, no charges brought I believe? He was speeding and a cop pulled him over, nobody knows what happened next, we can strongly assume he did not say what he was accused of saying or he would have been beaten or shot. Charged with speeding, don't get me wrong 105 in a 45 is dumb okay but it is hardly trouble making. So we have Robby Anderson the huge trouble maker, who was charged with reckless driving. Shoot him dead your honour, he is guilty as charged. Is it two "trouble" free years we have had since then though? The odd thing is people like Herndon and Q, one is a drunk driver and the other a wife-beater, allegedly and even fan favourite Chrebet was arrested for disorderly conduct outside a bar, funny world when it matters, it matters more.
Living the life of a saint must be hard sometimes but fair play to you for never putting a foot wrong in your young life.
No one said he should be thrown in jail. But it doesn't get ignored either. It has the be a factor that's considered. People can reform themselves and be incident free for the rest of their lives. But that doesn't mean the incidents get ignored when considering whether or not you want to commit to a player for $60 million over 4-5 years.
He's currently only 26 years of age. Hello. Yes. A kid in his 20's made a poor judgement. Wow. OH MY GOD! Send him to hell lmao @ you! And his mistake wasn't even a conviction. He was convicted of nothing; therefore he's NOT GUILTY of "poor judgement" you little saint you lol @ you....
That's a LIE. If he were to put his hands and "push" a police officer? He would have been facing and convicted of an assault on a LEO (Law Enforcement Officer). Which wasn't the case lol.
Go away there is just a topic u can win BTW he is 26 12 away from his parents he is very very luck he is not in the clink right now serving a long jail time for assaulting a cop
of all the stuff to ponder wth teh Robby situation, character for me is irrelevant. Some are acting like hes a borderline convict who might go on a raping spree any minute.
Regardless of his past I can’t see JD signing RA to a huge contract. Any offer over $13 million per year won’t be coming from the Jets. It’s too bad because RA is a good WR. However with the OL in shambles I can see JD reinvesting that money there and rebuilding the WR corps through the draft - this is the year where he can get two quality WRs.....
But if you're signing him for $18 million then you're losing out on another starter most likely. You won't even be in the conversation for some guys that would be far more important to this team than Robby. That's my whole point. If we strike out everywhere and we have $18 mil laying around then yea, sure, do it. But if you commit that kind of money before making a run at every OL or Edge guy, you should be fired.
You can't pay a guy who has barely proven anything in this league, crazy money. That is how you continue to move this franchise towards a never ending cess pool of failure. Hopefully we can start moving towards that "self sustaining entity" JD keeps talking about instead.
incidents, reformed lol Come on man, get a different stick to beat him with any guy that has beaten his woman or driven drunk is a 1000 times worse than anything Robby did or didn't do.
The cop he pushed is allegedly a massive racist with discipline issues within the force he works for, suspensions aplenty by all accounts.
