I think the more appropriate question is if he'll retire if he falls short of the Super Bowl yet again.
Classy move by those guys, L.T put his heart & soul into that Chargers franchise, and should have never been disrespected to begin with. I only had 4 jerseys in Marvin Jones, Martin, Chrebet and Revis; really don't buy jerseys all that often, but as soon as we landed L.T, I got myself a Tomlinson jersey two weeks later. I'm glad I did too, because he's been outstanding on the football field, but he's been an even greater team leader. One of my favorite Jets of all time already. I sport my L.T jersey every Sunday, and I hope to rock it all the way to Dallas. One of our team MVP's if you ask me. When I watch L.T make plays, I feel like I'm watching greatnes. Question: If L.T wins a ring, do you think he'll go into the HOF as a Jet or no?
No, I think he'll wanna honor his two year contract inorder to ENJOY defending our championship. I honestly believe that if L.T wins that ring, he'll also wanna defend that crown; as a champion the following season.
I think he does retire if the Jets win it all. If they win it all, he basically did what he wanted to do. He proved all the doubters wrong, and he also won the big one, which is what he wanted. I understand the pull of coming back to honor his contract and possibly move up on the all-time list for rushing. I get all that. But, I would counter by saying he probably does not want to strain his body any more than he already has especially after accomplishing his two main goals already, AND the biggest factor is his family. The guy just had a baby a few months ago. I'm sure that will play a HUGE HUGE factor. I think he hangs them up if they win it all.
if he wins it all with us this year, he will go into the hall of fame as a Jet FOR SURE especially after the way the chargers franchise just discarded him the way they did....
Since LT left the Chargers, he's never fired back at those who insulted him or the management that gave up on him. When speaking of San Diego fans, he only says positive things. The only displeasure LT has ever discussed is the humiliation the Pats put on his ex-team. The same ex-team which couldn't wait to bad mouth him as soon as he walked out the door & even after he showed so much emotion at his exit press conference. === Considering how hard LT plays, how productive he still is at this point in his career, how much of leader in the locker room & how much he mentors younger RB & being reliable safety outlet for Sanchez ... I don't think I've ever liked a Jet so much after only one season. LT might retire after only one or two seasons but I'll always remember him as Jet. Chargers loss was the Jets gain here.
LT was a great pick up. He picked up right where Jones left off. It seems he is a real leader and fits right into the Jets program. He handled the former Charger assholes with class! Fuck those losers, lets face it Rivers maybe a great QB but he is a fucking loser.
I've always respected LT. He's got great numbers, and was an amazing talent for years with the Chargers. But I have really come to appreciate and love the guy now that he's a Jet. It is great to see him revive his name and a bit of his legend on the field. He may be a step slower, but he's got the heart of a champion. It would be really great to send him off with a SB ring. I gotta admit I am not all that thrilled with him passing CMart on the list, but if the guys got the legs to do it then so be it. At least he does it wearing Green & White. Eventually these guys are going to be surpassed on the list anyhow, but it would be nice to have Martin up there a bit longer.
