I don't know if you guys read Entertainment Weekly or not, but they ranked The Wire the #1 TV show ever.
I don't agree. But to be fair I have a few shows that I just can't separate at the top. The Shield, The Wire, The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad are all worthy of the top spot. They flip-flop in my mind. Can't put one over the other.
I'm certain way through season 5 right now, and I don't even know if I really like any of the characters anymore. All the characters I like are dead/gone in some way. Is the Wire just really good at killing the more likable characters, or am I just having terrible luck where my favorite characters die. I'm pretty sure every street guy I thought "I hope they make it through the end of this show", they died. Then the ones that I think "I really hope this guy gets it and dies", they survive.
...I don't get the hate on season 2. It isn't as good as the other seasons, but aside from Ziggy who's just fucking insufferable, I still thought it was a good season.
