Chrebet and Aaron Glenn. Maybe the best pure coverage cornerback the Jets ever had.

I would also give Mickey the edge but you could make a case either way. Mickey was on the roster for 180 games and only started 108 of them while Barkum started 136 of the 158 games he was on the team.

I was a huge Hasty fan but he quit on the team, played on terrible teams, had his best seasons in KC(he had good seasons here where he deserved the PB but we sucked so he never made it) and he bad mouthed the organization. He's not making it.

Abe is one of the best pass rushers we have ever had but was only healthy for 4 years.

if we let all those guys in it dilutes the honor. it should be special, I think we are already letting too many guys in. they all deserve it but it should have been spread out over time.

Glenn is one of the most overrated players in team history. Good player but we saw what a real shutdown corner looks like in revis, Glenn used to get roasted by good WRs. Glenn MAY be top 5 in my lifetime as far as cover corners.

That is exactly why Cherbet should remain on the outside looking in.

He was good but the ring of honor should be reserved for the greatest.

Wait- you think James Hasty should be in the Ring of Honor but Wayne Chrebet should not?

    LOL.

Tagging favre for our wall of fame or what ever they call it would be awesome! Not that he deserved it but because it would cause a ton of bad blood and really piss of the cheese heads, especially if Brett came on game on game day and praised the jets as the best org he ever played for. That would be historic.

LOL to think of even mentioning Johnny Abraham.

But who SHOULD be in already, and needs to be in ASAP for next season, and it's a shame he's not yet, is Chrebet. I'd also put in Mo, Marvin Jones, Aaron Glenn and Big Kat Shaun Ellis.

Sean Ellis does not deserve the ring of honor. He played a long time, but other than two good seasons when Abraham was drawing double teams, Ellis was a very average player. You don't get in the ring of honor just for being on playoff teams.

He fits the definition of a long time Jet with an average career.

James Hasty was the #1 CB on this team and later with the Chiefs. He was a Jet for 112 games of which he played in and started 111. He earned three pro bowl appearances. Until Revis and Cromartie came along, Hasty was probably the best CB we had that didn't play in SB III.

Wayne Cherbet was the # 2 WR on this team (# 1 in 2000 only, #3 or 4 in his last three years of his career) and never ever went to a pro bowl. He was a Jet for 172 games, played in 156 of them and started 104. Cherbet only played two full 16 games seasons in his career. Except for a couple years where we were decimated at the WR position, Cherbet was never really the main man at the position.

Maynard, Caster, Barkum, Walker, Toon, Moore, K. Johnson, Coles, and Holmes has all been the undisputed # 1 WR and main man for more than one year in a row and all of them have the pro bowl appearances to prove it. Art Powell and George Sauer may have played in the shadow of Don Maynard but they each made the pro bowl at least four years in a row.

Do you really think a guy who is maybe the 12th best WR in our history belongs in the ring of honor?

All great players but they were not here long enough and deserve to go into the ring of honor (or equivalent) on the teams where they earned there stripes instead of here.

    This

Sort of the Richie Anderson of the defense.

Hung around for multiple years and except for a handful of contributions was notable only for hanging around for multiple years

Toon, McNeil, and Philbin are already in.

Otis Smith had a long and productive NFL career but only played four seasons for us.

Lol- Chrebet is 3rd all time in receptions, 3rd all time in yards and 3rd all time in TDs.

You're made up "stats" about who was the number 1 receiver when he played is irrelevant.

    He's an all-time great Jet.

I liked Hasty but he's nowhere near an all-time great Jet- not even close to being on the same level. His time in KC is also entirely irrelevant.

But you don't seemed to be biased "James Hasty".
