Well you could probably track my posting pretty easily and see that my being Cimini is likely to be impossible.

I just see so much crap on the internet all the time that is blatantly fabricated. It seems like anything that cannot be proven should likely be treated that way.

There is much more evidence that he is guilty than there is evidence to show his innocence. He is a provoker who has very little regard for those who he intentionally bashes on a weekly basis. I am very curious why you have made some many posts in his defense when EVERY Jets fans I know hates his guts. Just make me curious.

Again, I think the internet is essentially a well-lit alley full of trolls and muggers and the like.

If the evidence was clear-cut that Cimini was Fake Steiny then so be it. Anthony Weiner did tweet pictures of his weiner, so it's not impossible that Cimini put his livelihood at risk in this manner.

Nothing I have read so far, and there's been a lot written, convinces me that Cimini is actually Fake Steiny. There's a little bit of circumstantial evidence against him, mainly in the form of screen shots of two tweets that took place in the same minute and were identical. Unfortunately the evidence available to us does not clearly show the order the tweets were made in.

So we're left to rely on somebody telling us what they saw as opposed to having concrete evidence to rely on.

That takes us back to the trolls and muggers area.

It would be really easy to frame anybody in this circumstantial way using twitter.

    1. Watch twitter like a hawk for a tweet from the person you want to frame.

    2. Keep a timer on the synced clock that all servers connected to the internet sync off of.

    3. When you get a tweet early enough in the minute to be able to get another one off in the same minute pounce on it and copy and paste and fire away.

    4. Take screenshots of both tweets.

    5. Post your accusation and let the fun begin.

Defending against that type of incident would be costly in terms of legal fees.

And BTW, there's not much more evidence that he's guilty. Just the two tweets screen-shotted. Nobody else has put forward names of the people they talked to to confirm most of the information in that story.

The idea that Cimini manually tweets links to his ESPN articles is absurd. It's apparent from the format that it is pulled from an RSS feed.

So does that make it more likely that he's actually Fake Steiny or less?

All you young guys are going to have a day soon where you realize that the world moves so fast and there's no way to keep up with most of it. I'll be cackling at you over my walker no doubt when that day arrives.

I am agnostic on the Cimini Twitter controversy.

However, I go back to Paul Zimmerman fighting Joe Namath @ The Post, and Larry WhatsHisName doing likewise from the Daily News. Steve Serby vs. Richard Todd....Larry Merchant......etc.

    I know NY Sports.

And I will say this: I respect Rich Cimini, he knows football, he has good sources, he has a good pulse on the team. He may be 100% innocent or guilty on this Twitter thing, I don't know.

But sorry, someone who has covered the NY Jets for 3 media outlets for 3 decades knows a helluva lot more than 99.999% of even the 'expert' fans.

    Proof ?????

I know, you dislike Cimini, therefore he's guilty.

You hate Cimini so much that you joined just to post this bullshit, and disparage a member with 16,000 posts?

Three decades gives you perspective (e.g. current issues vs Kotite era) but it doesn't necessarily make you right. How long has Skip Bayless been in broadcasting?

I do have major problems with the beat writers fielding questions from 'fans' regarding the team when they are not an official spokesperson for it. There's a lot of misplaced narcissism in the media.

If this is true, it is not that surprising because these guys are pretty much snakes as evdienced by the way they report things that are said in the locker room.

Secondly, who is Cimini to criticize anyone's knowledge of football? Yeah, Mehta is clueless, but so is Cimini.

These beat writers are like kids...or teenage girls. They are more interested in badmouthing each other and players than they are in learning about the game and writing knowledgeable football articles.

It's pathetic. I wish Wayne Chrebet or some other former player would get a media job so we could hear something from a guy with a clue.

He knows less than 99.99% of everyone who ever played the game at a high level. You put on a game film and show him the end cut and the side view, you think he'd be able to tell you anything?

His commentary would be like: "Oh, there #6, that's Sanchez." "Oh, run play, he got tackled." "OK, Tebow's on the field."

You think he could watch a defensive series from the end cut and tell you how many plays were zone and how many were man? That's basic shit and a guy like him wouldn't have a clue.

In conclusion, either Cimini is Fake Steiny (and Fake Steiny doesn't exist) or Fake Steiny is Cimini (and Cimini doesn't exist).

Seriously though if Cimini's not posting in this thread then he's probably viewing it. Anyone who is childish enough to create a fake twitter account to insult someone who gets paid much less than you but does your job much better than you is a pathetic person. Ergo, Rich Cimini is a pathetic person.

i so hope this is true.

Hope Cimini gets canned, and an actual qualified, responsible beat writer gets assigned who doesn't just propogate sensationalistic garbage.
That would be at least 1 plus on this terrible season.

It makes the simultaneous posts irrelevant.
