Also funny, "maybe we'll be 31 this week" Edit: and when Rex said it's frustrating seeing a QB run for yards, I think he was thinking of Big Ben and how much Big Ben did that
When the play happened for that first fraction of a second I just assumed VJ was going for the TD. It's great to see that one of our LB's has that type of speed. It's been a while (forever?) since I've seen anything like that from Jet LB.
I can't recall ever seeing a press conference where Rex (or any of our previous coaches) displayed videos and then spoke about plays almost as if he were in a meeting with players. That was nice to see. Also, I love that he just sneaks in compliments to guys. I'll use Lankster for example. He made that crazy tac..german suplex. Now personally I was pissed, because I thought the return man called for a fair catch. So of course I naturally screamed out GOD DAMNIT WILSON! (true story), then realized it was 21, not 20. Well anyway, I like how he quickly says something nice about them. I wonder if the players watch these things too, and if the ones who are mentioned at times get extra motivation, or morale.
Thank you for putting this up! If people or the media...or anyone else for that matter couldn't put that little 2+2=4 equation together well then....ummm....Yeah. Time to take a "deductive reasoning" class. He's the head coach and he's not about to throw one of his other coaches or players under the bus.
The problem is that Rex is too honest and too open. He doesn't have to point the finger at anyone, or take the blame himself, just say there was some miscommunication and we'll work on it, it happens sometimes, but damn our defence looked good. By saying it was down to me, just like saying I didn't see the interception, he gives the media more ammunition. What would the media reaction have been if we hadn't got that penalty, lost the game and he'd said this?
