You're right. But the arguments in this thread are being caused by your fellow Indy fans talking smack and acting like douchebags.
what a douche. the ball was out of his hands for a few seconds. He knew Mark was out of the play. I call it a cheap shot.
It was clearly a late hit and should have been flagged as a late hit. They also should have called a personal foul earlier in the 2nd quarter on the drive when Keller caught his TD when Sanchez was nearly speared. I didn't realize defenders could leave their feet and lead with the helmet while tackling the QB? It's a good thing Sanchez was already falling back or he would have taken a nasty hit on that play too. You can say Sanchez "hammed" it up but that doesn't change the fact that it was a clear cheap shot and should have been flagged. As for the shit talking after the game... it's a pussy move. The Jets talked shit all the way up to the Pats game and after the game they didn't rub the Pats face in it. Our team and coach may talk trash but they've been nothing but gracious winners when they won. Anybody who thinks Greene going down didn't have any effect on the game either is stupid or is biased to the point that they refuse to accept facts. He was avg 4.1 yards per carry and had just rattled off over 20 yards on 3 straight plays. He doesn't go down we are able to move the ball (OBTW like we had done the entire 1st half)What in those Facts lead you to say your D was shutting him down? The Jets have been a second half team and Greene is the reason why. Don't spew this crap about the Colts D this, bottom line is he was our best offensive weapon in the playoffs and losing him killed us. That being said the defense still was unable to stop Manning but with Greene in the game the D gets a little more rested and we may be able to put up points. At the end of the day the better team won but don't come in here and act all high and mighty that your franchise is above this or that when took cheap shots and then resorted to talking smack after the game. I've been on your boards and for a team with so much success your fanbase is very insecure. I saw all kinds of posts showing it yesterday. Enjoy your win but don't be surprised if somebody on your team gets dropped and leaves on a stretcher next year. Hey we didn't know they had the ball!!!!
As somebody who has watched all 18 of the Colts games this season it their entirety, speaking to somebody who has likely watched the Colts twice, trust me when I say that you're wrong that our "whole team is Manning." I can't tell you how many times we won games this year because of somebody other than Peyton Manning -- including, on many occasions, our defense. Think about both of our wins over the Ravens (including in the playoffs). Neither occasion did we put up too many points. But also on neither occasion did the Ravens put the ball in the endzone. Peyton's a helluva player, no doubt. But there's nothing he can do to keep an opponent out of the endzone. Our defense has been very, very good this year -- and that it's done so without the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is remarkable.
Isn't this the same guy that ran the f*ck over by Greene early in the game and was taken to the sidelines where I'm sure he was being asked his name and what state he was in by the Indy medical staff? I don't have an issue with the hit as he was probably still disoriented by getting trucked over. QBs w/o the ball I guess are easier to tackle than RBs.
The bottom line is having the best QB in the league is the best defense... as for your Bob Sanders comment... if that isn't the most overrated player in the league. What does he play 4 games a year? And yeah this chump that was talking shit after the game was the guy that got demolished by Greene earlier in the game.
There's no doubt in my mind that the Colts would not have made the playoffs without Manning. In that regard, yes, he is the entire team.
Trust me when it happens on Manning next time the Jets see him that will be the excuse. The Jets would have thought he still had the ball even though he was just standing there for almost 3 seconds wathing the play go away from him.
The best defense against the best QB in the league is to play keep away with your running attack. Having the Pound half of your Ground and Pound attack out and going away from the running attack does not help your chances.
Meh. I've found that loyalty is something of an illusion. At best, it's a two-way street. But, in the real world, virtually everybody's open to a better offer. The NFL is business. The Colts -- and the Jets, for that matter -- are sub-businesses of that business. And that means that "loyalty" is something that only exists as a subordinate to the bottom line. Edgerrin James is the leading rusher in Colts history. But his productivity had waned in his last couple seasons here. When his contract was up for renewal, he entertained other offers, got one from the Cardinals, and told the Colts he had to match it. The Colts refused and he became a Cardinal. And, in hindsight, it was clearly a good move for us. A tough one, but a good one. We've treated Edgerrin with the respect he deserves and earned. Irsay sent him a Super Bowl ring, although he wasn't on our team when we won it. He got a great round of applause and a highlight film in the stadium when he came back with the Seahawks this year. And he was the honorary captain at the coin toss yesterday. I'd say that shows pretty good loyalty on the Colts' part. But it doesn't mean we're going to harm the team's prospects to be loyal to him.
This is a career backup, who took himself out of the game after attempting to tackle Greene and getting lit up. This guy has no right to say anything. His name is also Melvin
That's a non sequitur. That's like saying that Joe Montana was "the entire team" when he was playing for the 49ers....because the case could (obviously) be made that they would have been a lesser team, and had less success than they did, had he not been there. But, to turn that into "he's the entire team" would be a slap in the face to some great players of that era -- names like Rice, Lott, Craig. Trust me on this: we've had defenses that couldn't stop anybody before. There's not a thing in the world that Peyton Manning or anybody else can do to overcome that. He tried -- and he was among the loudest complaining about it. If one great quarterback is enough to win Super Bowl rings, then how many would Dan Marino be wearing today? Because, in my book, he's the best to have ever played that position. And he never won a single ring.
Bullitt can go &#^%$&# himself. Cheap shot on Sanchez and doesn't get flagged. Now he's talking after the game?
This asshole got lit the fuck up by Greene was on the sidelines being told to sniff some ammonia.. I don't even wanna know what would happen to a late on manning.. They prob drop a bomb on the defense and proclaim the colts afc champions... Drew Coleman jumped about 2 hours early on that pass... Everytime I see it I have to laugh.. Did he step on a needle or something.. I mean really..
Yeah and that little bitch came back in the game, while that tough ass son of a bitch Green gets taken out with a rib injury caused when he got hit by that soft little finesse Colts defense that was going to get mauled by that massive offensive line.
