I'm not crying about anything. The game was the game. But what I said earlier are simple FACTS. Nobody is making excuses. And for the record genius, with those guys out the #1 seeded team (you )should have slaughtered us, not just beat us by 13. Are you this fucking stupid or are you just an outlier ? You sound like a 5 year old kid....
First, it was a late hit, no doubt. But don't start with the injuries crap. The Colts were playing without two starters on defense Sanders and Jackson and one on offense Gonzo. Green wasn't going anywhere and neither was Jones. The mighty Jets offensive line was supposed to be opening these massive holes, but the fact of the matter is, the Colts DT's are bigger and better than years past. They more than held their own. That soft finesse team plays a lot tougher than you guys give them credit for.
Greene was averaging over 4 yards per carry and has been way better in the 2nd half over the last few games.
what i dont understand is they saw the holding but cannot see the hit on sanchez with was atleast 3 seconds after the ball was handed off. Also the refs see ighedbo with a pinky on the facemask, but doesnt see when cotchery caught the ball right infront of the ref there was facemask on that to. How about the illegal contact penalty to keep the drive going in the 4th quarter. We got beat but comeon its hard to play against peyton on his own but playing against the refs to is even tougher.
You think they have half the impact that Jenkins and Leon Wash have for us ? We haven't had a RB catch a pass all year out of the backfield. LW was our best offensive player last year. If he's available, we win this game because it's probably held at Giants Stadium. Even if not, you have to worry about an outside runner which you didn't with TJ (never) and SG (sometimes). Sure, except for the fact that we're a 2nd half running team and Greene had just gashed your team for a 7 yard average in the 2nd half. The Chargers "D" was tougher and we wore them down. If SG doesn't go down, you guys are crying in your milk today.
Yea, right, that's why Greene's two last carries were for 7 yards apiece - because your defense was stopping him so easily. Watch the SD game, the Jets running game never starts rolling till just before the half.....just like it did against the Colts. Had Greene not gotten hurt, he would have been running on you in the second half. Guarantee you that 75% of Jets fans were saying "We're dead" as soon as they knew Greene was done for the game. Does that change the game outcome? Who knows, maybe not, but it IS a fact, and that's all I was saying. As to the secondary injuries....that's not crap either. The FACT is, that Peyton Manning torched the Jets #3 and #4 RCB's for 13 of his 26 completions. Not exactly an astonishing accomplishment. But hey, your going to Miami, not us and that's all that counts. Not saying anything different.
The refs were horrible. They were horrible in week 16 too. When one team has 1 false start penalty for the whole entire game while they blatantly committed quite a few fouls, well... something's wrong.
You have to bear with the refs. Sanchez was all along in the backfield and he had given away the ball 3 seconds earlier. The refs probably were looking at the scoreboard to see how they looked.
@borntolose: "This loss sucks. Fuck the colts and there queer fans who started rooting for the team five years ago. I'm not bitter im just pissed at a bunch of jerkoff fans who didnt like the team until peyton came." Well, for one thing, Manning's been in the league longer than five years. I believe this is his 11th season with the Colts. Beyond that, I really think the Colts following began its surge in the Jim Harbaugh/Marshall Faulk years. That was really the first taste of success that the team's fans had since the Colts moved here in 1984. Many of us remember well the Hail Mary pass that Harbaugh threw against Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship that was nearly caught and would've put us in the first Super Bowl since the Colts came to Indy. And many more fondly remember the years when Eric Dickerson became the Colts' first marquee player since the team came to town. I won't say that we don't have some fair-weather fans who have only jumped the bandwagon since Manning got here. But it's really not as you described.
That drunk Robert Irsay ripped apart a city and loyal fanbase just for the $$$. To be blunt, your city should never have gotten an NFL franchise except via expansion.
Greene was doing fine before the injury. In every playoff game he had a bigger second half. With him, the running game would have been fine. Without him, it was completely lost. Like I said in another thread, Greene's injury was the biggest reason the Jets lost. Peyton was the biggest reason the Colts won (surprise!).
I'm not in the excuse making business, and I don't think that the non-call on Sanchez had anything to do with the outcome of the game (they did pick up the first down eventually anyway.) But that was one of the worst non-calls I've seen in a long time, especially because it happened to the quarterback. If Eric Smith popped Manning after the play it would've been a flag without question. If it had happened to Brady it would've been an international incident. No wonder teams want homefield advantage so badly.
Really? Greene's 3 runs before he went down were for 12, 8, and 6. You're right he wasn't going anywhere.
Enough of this BS about your defense. Your whole team is Manning. Call a spade a spade and quite trying to write your own version of history. When/if you win the SB, no one will be talking about your defense. And rightfully so.
Some people would call a 13 point playoff win a "slaughter". How many times did the Jets defense surrender 30 points this season? And we probably could've scored again on our last possession if we'd needed to. Would 37-17 have counted as a "slaughter" in your book? Look, you guys have a lot to look forward to. You're clearly a team heading to higher places. And the Colts are clearly a team that are already somewhere near their peak (which means that, at some point, we'll be declining from it). I think Sanchez has the potential to be one of the league's best quarterbacks. And you've obviously already got the one of the best defenses in the league -- which portends good things for the Jets' future. There's no reason for all this animus. Hell, a month ago, you were on the outside-looking-in for a playoff berth at all....and, now, you just played in the AFC Championship game. Celebrate your successes and know that you probably have more to look forward to.
Ryan was fine all week and at the press conference. He said the Colts were a much better team than the Jets. It was the Jets with the bulletin board materialAll I read during the week was Jet players talking the disrespect card and it was coming from more than a few. Session was the only one talking smack during the week and all he said was that it would be a different Colts defense with all the starters playing. The Jets were whining about the game being handed to then the first time. I guess it's obvious that it was true. As far as talking before or after, call it what you want, but the fact of the matter is if you start it you better be able to back it up or expect it to come back and bite your ass. Calling it bitchy is nothing more than sour grapes on your part.
The people of the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland who were sore about the Colts leaving town pointed their fingers in the wrong direction -- they still do. They should've been pointing them at their elected officials -- who had tried to commandeer the franchise from Bob Irsay as some kind of public asset. If the government had tried to do that to my business, I probably would've left town too. If you want to keep somebody around, treat them that way. The Colts recently told Indianapolis and the state of Indiana that they needed a bigger and better stadium -- and that if we couldn't give it to them, somebody else (like L.A.) gladly will. So we did -- and all is well. It's not rocket science.
How is that bulletin board material or smack talk? None of what you described was directed at the Colts. All the Jets kept hearing from the media and experts on how they "were handed a playoff birth" and backed into the playoffs, even after beating Cincy and SD. No player was calling out anyone on the Colts and every player when asked said that Indy was a great team. So all this "bulletin board material" smack talk, you and your fellow Indy fans keep talking about is just bullshit in your land os make believe. Like I said Indy was the better team Sunday, try to win with some class. And Bullitt is a dirty player and should be fined. Huh? You're the one on a Jets message board talking smack after your team won. And it was a Colts player talking smack about a late hit that he committed. I'm not following your logic, how does any of that reflect "sour grapes" on my part.
I was surprised we didn't retaliate. I guess when Rex said "you hit one of ours, we'll hit two of yours" what he meant was "you hit one of ours and we'll sure as heck complain about it".
