It's his 3rd fine for profanity. The last one cost him $75,000, so the price tag for this one sort of makes since. Still, quite expensive for 2 words...
I know penalty is higher because it's his third infraction but something seems really crazy when "fuck you" draws a fine 4x what Vontaze Burfict gets when purposely trying to injure opponents by twisting their ankles after the tackle.
Jesus Christ 100k..He had every right to be pissed. I can see a 25-50k fine but 100k is unreasonable and a big Fuck You from the NFL.
Belichick blatantly cheats the league out of multiple championships, gets fined $500,000 Rex Ryan uses a bad word, gets fined $100,000.
So you can swear and scream like a maniac all game and it's okay but do it after the game and it costs you?
Exactly. CBS and FOX love showing close up of coaches losing their minds as they curse throughout the game. NFL doesn't seem to mind then. Ima usin Tapatalkie.
Admittedly his passion is great. He game planning, mid-game flexibility, talent evaluation, ability to groom young players, knowledge of the offense and special teams, etc..... these things will not be missed. You've got to admit that, at best, Rex is a flawed coach. In all honesty, I don't think we're going to miss him long after he is fired, but then again that will depend entirely on what follows. If we have anything approaching a respectable coach with a modicum of success then I think Rex becomes a distant memory quickly. Sadly, I see him going the way of his father: this was his pinnacle just as the HC job with the Iggles was Buddy's zenith. Rex may well get another shot, as his supporters argue. I think it will go similarly to Buddy's second tenure. he seems like a nice enough dude, but I just don't see the latent coaching talent in him that others are so keen to recognize.
I didn't see this "event" but was it picked up by the mic? I'm wondering if he was fined because the network complained or something like that.
He is a shit coach and I cannot wait for him to get fired. too bad his passion for the game is not tied any kind of offensive coaching skill. I do not care what he yells or does. Him and the GM suck and I hope they boot both of them soon
