When Herm doesn't give away games in the playoffs that cost the jets from making the AFCCG you can defend him against anything Rex says.

My guess on Woodys's love for Rex. Rex is outgoing and funny and gregarious and has a lot of friends. Plus he's a bit of a tough guy in his personal life all things Woody isn't but wants to be. He admires Rex. And couldn't stand Mangini because he's a nerd just like Woody. 100% speculation on my part.

Right b/c his master plan of no offense and blitzing on every 3rd down ever created is so stellar and catches everyone off guard.

It took an injury to Vinny in Chad's 3rd year for Herm to put Pennington under center, all the while Vinny had been stinking up the joint throwing picks at the worst times. I'm not even convinced he would have made the change without that injury in week 5 of 2002.

Would love to know this plan. What are we the Philadelphia 76ers? We gonna just tank each and every season?

Rex will be fired at halftime this week after the Jets give up 7 first half TD's while putting up negative yardage on offense. Idzik will meet Rex en route to the locker room to give him the news and then address the team in the locker room leaving Marty in charge. Marty then benches Geno and in a surprise move goes to Kerley at QB. The Jets offense starts lighting up the Broncos with a new fangled "triple dip enchilada" offense that Marty has been secretly crafting in his mothers basement for years. The defense is energized by the offense and starts sacking Manning every other play, causing fumbles and INT's at will. This all results in the greatest comeback in NFL history bringing the Jets to overtime with the heavily favored Broncos. After the Jets win the toss Marty elects to kick off and Peyton hits Thomas for an 80 yard TD on the first play. Riots ensue and ISIS invades the stadium decapitating Marty on the 50 yard line in front of a national audience.

Rex's mantra and I've heard it a million times coming out of his mouth is "I've gotta be me." Who cares about you just shut up and coach and win games. They have quieted him down (which the press has lamented since they want the "old Rex.") Esp after Idzik took over he's been giving this line about everything being a "Jets" decision. It's six years and I'm personally tired of his act. He's a chip off the old block for sure.

Decker isnt a guy who was a huge injury risk. he hurt his hamstring, can happen to anyone.

saying "outside of decker and kerley we have no one" is kind of dumb. we gave him a good #1 and #2 option there. decker got hurt, it happens. we have a ton of holes on this team, hard to build depth anywhere in that situation.

there is also ZERO need to try and stockpile assets on a team with 0 shot to compete that is 1-2 years into a massive rebuild.

Geno was looking pretty pedestrian even with Decker in the lineup.

Geno Smith was 53/85 (62.4%) for 581 yards, 3 TDs and 3 INTs in the 11 full Qtrs Eric Decker has played this year.

Who was our receiver opposite of Decker? David Nelson? Kerley primarily plays in the slot. A good 2nd option, but not enough reliable receivers. 2 isn't enough. You want to spread the field and have several pass-catchers out there that can make a play.

This foundation was shit. But you know who stunk even more? Geno Smith. I didn't even get into the offensive line or Jeff Cumberland who at best is a converted WR trying to play TE. He's still ineffective.

It seems we're 1-2 years into a half-assed, not really sure if we're rebuilding or not, rebuild than a "massive rebuild". That may come next season.

Its hard for your success NOT to wane when your starting out with "multiple super bowl wins". there really is no going up from there. he took over a 6-10 patriots team and got them to the superbowl. yea, he lost, but winning superbowls isnt easy. getting to them isnt easy. several teams has sitll never been to one. he took a 1-15 jets team and got them to the AFC championship game. sure, we lost... but we certainly didnt get "crushed" we were leading late in the 3rd quarter and lost 23-10. its not like the blew us out. and that was the most success this team saw in decades. did he get the cowboys to the superbowl? no. but before parcells they had 4 straight losing seasons including 3 straight 5-11 seasaons and were a complete joke having the worst run in the franchises history. he got them back to winning and getting in the playoffs. no small task

making the playoffs, making the championship game, and making the superbowl is not "crushing disappointment". crushing disappointment is missing the playoffs, and enduring losing season after losing season

this simply isnt based in reality, as we were still a playoff team thee 5 years after he left. including playoff wins like when we destroyed the colts 41-0. we made the playoffs 3 of the 5 years after he was gone. our money issue hadnt started until tanny started throwing money around

no amount of coaching can win games with this roster this year.

we have bottom 5 talent. there is only so much you can coach up bottom 5 talent with horrible QBs.

Rex should get an extension, he is one of the few things we have going for us.

The problem is the disconnect between Management and the Fans. delusional fans think this roster is a decent QB away from being a contending team. when the fact is we are 2 years of drafts/Free agents from being strong playoff contenders. every move idzik makes indicates we are in a rebuild. fans dont want to admit it.

the Zack Lowe grantland article was spot on.

If they went through the draft like they were suppose to and build the team, this team should have at least 3 or 4 options on offense that can catch a freaking football. How many receivers from the past draft are now on this team? There were many good pass-catchers available.

2 drafts went by. I don't care what Zack Lowe said, the Jets fucked up 2 drafts.
